Counting Crows will be playing Somewhere Under Wonderland LIVE at Irving Plaza on August 31st. The free, one-night only show, will feature the band's live performance of the new album along with some of their classic hits. You'll be able to stream the show live on Yahoo.

Counting Crowshave finished recording a new album. They plan to mix the record in April and it's slated for release in August or September. This will be the group's first full-length comprised of original material since 2008's Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings.
Counting Crows released Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) in June - which you can stream in the replies - and they want you to download four new songs from the album, complete with liner notes and artwork, for free on BitTorrent. Counting Crows have updated their myspace with two new songs off of their upcoming Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings, "1492" and "When I Dream of Michelangelo". The cover art can be seen in the replies.
At tonights show in Altoona, PA, Counting Crows announced that their new double disc album would be in stores November 6th and is called Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings. They said the first disc is Saturday Nights and is about sin, dilution, and break down and that Sunday Mornings is about having to live with what you've done. Half the set was new songs and they all sounded fantastic. Adam also said, "Touring isn't about New York City or Chicago. People often forget the little parts of America like Altoona, but we haven't forgotten. It's been a great 14 years and here is to another 14, another 20--we aren't going anywhere."
