Kanye West performed a medley featuring "Jesus Walks", "Touch the Sky", "Stronger", "Heartless", "All of the Lights", "Mercy", and "Black Skinhead" tonight on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Check it out here.
A Yeezus film project, a collaboration with Bret Easton Ellis, is in the works.
You know what, I canít. Itís in Kanye Land, and thatís subject to a whole other time frame. He came and asked me to write the film. I didnít want to at first. Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. Heíd given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether Iím right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So fuck it, I said yes. And thatís how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. Weíll see what happens.
I really like him as a person. I know he comes off in this performance-art way in the press, but if youíre just alone...
During a show in New Jersey, Kanye West talked about a few different topics -- including offering support for Drake in lieu of the recent Rolling Stone situation. The full video is in the replies.
Let me tell you what it is about magazines: they always be trying to pit ****** against each other. That ainít going down anymore. We love Drake. If anything, we are going to go after those motherfuckers and their negativity, because before they print shit like that, they need to check with me and him to see if itís OK before they get ran up in their motherfuckin office.
In celebration of its upcoming tenth anniversary on February 10th, Billboard has an oral history of Kanye West's The College Dropout featuring pretty much everyone involved in making the album. Does the album mean anything to you? Come chat about it in the replies.
Law enforcement sources tell us ... the D.A. has not decided whether to charge Kanye with battery. The reality is ... there's almost no chance of that happening. First, the D.A. now has an uncooperative victim. Second, the victim's alleged racial epithets will not sit well with the jury. And there are probably lots of Kanye fans in the jury pool
As my grandfather would say, "Life is a performance." I'm giving all that I have in this life. I'm opening up my notebook and I'm saying everything in there out loud. A lot of people are very sacred with their ideas, and there is something to protecting yourself in that way, but there's also something to idea sharing, or being the person who makes the mistake in public so people can study that.
Kim Kardashian was visiting a Beverly Hills medical facility earlier today, and she had to get through a scrum of paparazzi to get there. According to the story, an 18-year-old bystander approached Kim and said, "Fuck these fa**ot-ass n****rs." When Kim told him not to use this particular term, the guy responded, "Fuck you, bitch. Just trying to help you. Shut up, n****r lover, stupid slut." When Kanye arrived, he and Kim went into the office ó a chiropractorís office, it turns out ó where Kim had scene [sic] the guy enter after his outburst. The story says that...
The effort may be nothing more than an elaborate joke, but launching a cryptocurrency is actually relatively easy since the Bitcoin source code is public. Many serious and half-serious clones have launched, but Coinye and the meme-cenric Dogecoin are getting a lot more attention than Litecoin, Namecoin, and other virtual currencies that attempt to improve upon Bitcoin.
In the recent podcast with Bret Easton Ellis, Kanye West talked a little about Zappos.com, and how they were putting out a "shit product" -- the company has responded by actually selling a "shit product." Umm ... got um?
Kanye West gave a talk at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. You can watch a video of it here, and a transcript has been typed up here. After the talk Kanye gave the entire class tickets to his show.
How does the community feel about vinyl bootlegs? For example: Kanye West's Graduation (to my knowledge) has never officially been pressed. However, Vinyl-Digital has pre-orders up for a limited edition purple pressing.
Kanye West is getting the Yeezus tour back on track beginning November 16th in Philadelphia. However, only three of the derailed dates have been rescheduled (Chicago, Toronto and Detroit). The rest (Vancouver, Denver, Columbus, Montreal, Minneapolis, and St. Louis) have been cancelled altogether. The re-schedule is on his website.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are suing the leaker of their engagement video, who, it turns out, was Chad Hurley (one of the co-founders of YouTube).
The couple's lawsuit states Chad Hurley wasn't invited to the elaborate Oct. 21 proposal at San Francisco's AT&T Park, but was allowed to stay because he signed an agreement not to post any video or images from the event. West allowed other cameras to film the event for possible broadcast on E! Entertainment Television, home to his fiancee's show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," according to the suit.
Kanye West's Yeezus tour continues to be plagued by equipment issues, this time due a crash en route to Vancouver involving one of the tour's equipment trucks. According to Kanye's publicist the accident damaged the tour's "custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen" so badly that the gear is "beyond repair." As a result, last night's Vancouver show was postponed as well as the shows scheduled for Denver and Minneapolis. There is no word yet as to whether more dates of the tour will be affected.
