Through the midst of a long weekend of music and this holiday weekend, it seems my report from Sunday's Bamboozle was never posted. If you're curious about my experiences, you can read them in the replies.
Bamboozle was a pretty great time this past weekend, and we've got some fan-shot videos from the festival for you guys to check out. In the replies, you can check out performances from Brand New, Less Than Jake, Armor For Sleep, The Receiving End of Sirens, The Dear Hunter, He Is We and Boys Like Girls.
Did you go to Bamboozle? A bunch of our staff did. I just got the write-up from Christian from his first day experience, and I've posted that below. I think he's still recovering, but we'll have more write-ups soon as well Got some pictures to post up as well, so check the replies.
I was lucky enough to watch a brilliant after-party show last night that included Brand New and The Front Bottoms. Brand New didn't really play a full set, but what they did play was awesome - some rarely played songs including "Flying At Tree Level." Head to the replies to check out the set list from the show and a video of the band playing "Sowing Season."
Update 2: Sunday's set times are in the replies now too.
Update 1: Saturday's set times are in the replies now too.
Bamboozle has released set times for Friday's part of the festival. Saturday's times are going up at 2 p.m. EST then we'll get Sunday's at 3 p.m. We'll update this post with those set times as they are released. Head to the replies to check out Friday's set times.
According to this article, John D (Bamboozle creator) is planning a country/pop festival in Wildwood, NJ in August. Also mentioned in the article: Dramarama is reuniting to play a Bamboozle after party.
This was pretty much lost in the chaos of last night ... but you can check out a video of John D (Bamboozle creator) explaining why Skrillex is technically headlining over Blink 182, in the replies. However, according to the poster found here, they're playing different days - the set times are probably like 15 minutes different, so who cares. I know, I know, you're going to care.
Update: I am putting this thread at the top of the page as an "open thread" for discussion as the bands are announced tonight. Come hang out, talk about the bands you want to see - and then the bands that are announced.
Update #2: We've added the released poster to the replies - check it out to see what bands are playing what days.
Coming directly from a press release (to avoid any of the previous insanity): Skrillex has been added as a headline performer to Bamboozle, joining previously announced headliners Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters and newly added main stage performers (blink-182 were announced earlier this month) include Incubus and Mac Miller.
To clear up some confusion about apparently "inaccurate confirmations" for Bamboozle: this post that Thomas made regarding artists came from the word search game The Boozler posted. According to them, they were given the ok to post this by the festival heads. The internet figured out the answers and Thomas posted them. It seems shit then hit the fan. Apparently this caused a lot of problems for The Bamboozle. While we have had a long relationship with the festival - it's totally their call to not want to work with us. I am not really understanding the why behind it ... but, there's not much I can do about that. However, we still really enjoy the work they do, love the bands...
A documentary chronicling the 2011 Bamboozle and the festival's past, The 2011 Bamboozle Festival Documentary: Back To Basics, will be released for free this fall. Check out the trailer in the replies.
