Tom Alderson, drummer of Philadelphia, PA hardcore band Crosscheck, was badly injured Sunday night and is currently hospitalized. A GoFundMe page has been set up.
Our good friend, Tom Alderson, has experienced many heavy burdens recently, but more-so now than ever he needs our help. Sunday night, Tom suffered an incredible amount of physical injury and trauma to his head and other parts of his body. Currently hospitalized, he is going to be spending his 24th birthday laid up in a hospital room hooked to machines and barely being able to do much of anything for himself on his own. The injuries he has sustained are so severe, that they will be keeping him out of work for an undetermined...

Furman Mitchum, an AP.net reader (who once toured with Midtown and Cobra Starship), recently woke up to his house in flames. A GoFund Me page has been created to help.
On Sunday May 10th, Mothers Day 2015, I awoke around 11:30pm to the sound of something crashing to the floor in the kitchen and the smell of smoke. I got up to find the entire back wall behind the stove was engulfed in flames. The flames had already reached the cabinets and ceiling above and the heat was already too intense to warrant getting closer.

A documentary about Agnostic Front, titled The Godfathers of Hardcore, is up for funding on Kickstarter.
Film and Music Video Director Ian McFarland (Rungs in a Ladder: Jacob Bannon, The Outlaw: Dan Hardy, The Problem Solver:Joe Lauzon, Meshuggah, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Agnostic Front) is crafting an intimate portrait of the two industry leaders, two of the most respected individuals in the 35-year history of hardcore punk music. In addition to inspiring and nurturing multiple generations of bands that followed their lead, Miret and Stigma have remained close friends through great adversity that sometimes threatened their very existence.

Thom Fekete of Surfer Blood has incredibly rare cancer. You can donate here.
In a statement on his GoFundMe page, Fekete says his cancer is so rare that there is little research on it, and the alternative treatment plan his team of doctors is recommending as a complement to chemotherapy is only partially covered by insurance.

Square has launched a new feature as part of their Cash app called "$Cashtags." The basic idea is that you can register a tag (kind of like a username) and then anyone can send you cash directly to that tag. The blog post announcing this feature talks about how the company envisions this being a great way for artists to collect money, tips, and things like that. Bands, labels, and artists may want to register their names if you think you're ever going to use the service. And, if you'd like to send me some money to go buy beer and fast-food, you can do that at $chorus.
We think $Cashtags are a fantastic marketing service that lets your customers, donors, fans, or even friends pay you...

A documentary about Luxury is up for funding on Kickstarter.
Sounding like Fugazi or Shudder to Think fronted by a younger, more vicious Morrissey, they were an anomaly, in Toccoa, or almost anywhere. They brought together such disparate influences that one could barely imagine them co-existing in a band, much less pulling it off as a thoroughly distinctive sound. The English melodicism laid on top of such pummeling instrumentation was a study in contrasts, but it was of a piece, as there was enough of the melodic in the instruments and enough brutality in the lyrics and vocal delivery that it hung together, just so. As singer, Lee Bozeman describes it, "I write these beautiful, nice...

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink - even the water in our toilets is clean! But many people around the world donít have that luxury. Every day, 1,400 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesnít have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand Filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world. Empire! Empire! had a truck crash into their house.
A giant pick-up truck barreling through your house and car at a very high speed does a lot of damage and complicates life to a ridiculous point. Since then, we have been on roller coaster after roller coaster, trying to get things back in order and also seeing if it was going to even be a possibility to go out on tour. Setting house stuff aside- there is now no longer a gaping hole and our house is now not being supported by a large, Chevy truck, but there are still many things to fix- we still have to deal with issues with our van. The insurance company won't let us move it- let alone use it for tour, and things aren't moving fast...

If you're looking for a heartwarming story to make your Friday a little better, look no further. Hardcore bands may have a notorious reputation to some, but to many it is known for being among the most united and loyal. One of the scene's most well-respected veterans, Nate Gluck, a bassist and manager for many bands throughout his career, has been stricken with stomach cancer. Due to the overwhelming bills that this illness brings, a GoFundMe was started. Less than 24 hours since it has been started, over $50,000 has been raised. We wish the best for Nate and his family during this time.

Billboard is reporting that One Direction actually have a financial stake in 5 Seconds of Summer. By the way, when my time machine works, I'm going to go back and find out how to invest in Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and Fun.
According to the documents filed at Londonís Companies House, the split allots for 120 shares: 1D holds 50 percent, and the managers hold the other 50. Looking at 5SOS music sales so far, for instance -- 788,000 albums and EPs and 2.4 million song downloads sold, per Nielsen SoundScan -- that would amount to $250,000 in earnings for Modest and 1D, or $25,000 added to each 1D memberís bank account, Billboard estimates. Consider bigger revenue generators like...
