Featured Stream: Moneen

Moneen fans rejoice, you can now stream the band's latest adventure of an album in entirety on their AP.net Profile. The World I Want To Leave Behind is twelve tracks of roller-coaster dynamics that see the band pushing their sound further than ever without losing the appealing spontaneity that defines them. As you'd expect from a Moneen record, this one begs for another listen... and another, and another.

Jeremy Aaron 09/09/09 01:17 PM

Love, love, love the EP. Can't wait to get home to listen to this in its entirety.

sleeplessdance 09/09/09 01:17 PM

baton 09/09/09 01:38 PM

listening right now.. the red tree was very important to me and still i find it just brilliant,.. this somehow even reminds me of thrice - and yes it is amazing

Keagan Ilvonen 09/09/09 01:48 PM

More people need to listen to this album.

inthemidst 09/09/09 01:49 PM

Streaming the album at this very moment in time. It's incredible! Sounds like The Red Tree but with more introspect. The guitars are so dynamic, which drew me to love Moneen in the first place. This really is a great album, and I now cannot wait until next Tuesday to pick it up! Great job Moneen!!

haddy 09/09/09 01:50 PM

this band needs more attention

Doolb-Oidua 09/09/09 01:52 PM

I love this band, and this album was worth the long wait. I'm Canadian and Moneen and The Weakerthans are the only two canadian bands that I'm really into.

Snails 09/09/09 02:01 PM

I'm pretty excited to listen to this. I love The Red Tree.

BurymeWalkAway 09/09/09 02:01 PM

Such an underrated band... They deserve so so so much more credit

Crowe41 09/09/09 02:02 PM

I don't know if it's something in the air, but I just had one of those moments...when you hear an album for the first time and it feels like it was meant to happen at that exact time...ah I can't really describe it.

This album is something special.

I agree. This may end up being my personal election for AOTY.

popdisaster00 09/09/09 02:18 PM

This band should be massive. This record is spectacular. EVERYONE BUY IT

HometownHero 09/09/09 02:27 PM

This sounds great

InaGreendase 09/09/09 02:27 PM

I actually thought this album was a lot less dynamic than Happy or Red Tree. I mean, it's good -- the choruses in "Hold That Sound" and "Great Escape" are wonderful and the flow is solid, but it's occasionally too glassy, the midsection lulls a bit and there's almost zero "holy shit" moments where the last few albums had 'em almost every song.

It's probably a top 30 for me in a somewhat weak year where Red Tree was #7 in a strong year (2006).

radxbandit 09/09/09 02:28 PM

great stuff, will be picking this up on the release daye.

adam . . . ??? 09/09/09 02:28 PM

yes, yes, and yes

sean-reid 09/09/09 03:03 PM

I've said this numerous times but this album truly is superb and consistent. That's why I gave it 5/5 here.

I know what you mean! It's pretty good.

fightoffyrdmns 09/09/09 03:41 PM

This album is fantastic. I've been anticipating this since first seeing Believe for the first time almost a year ago, and this band killed it with Brand New recently. These dudes deserve so much success, everybody give this a chance and pick it up!

TotalCollapse 09/09/09 04:02 PM

Sounds good.

HoldThatSound 09/09/09 04:04 PM

SOOOOO good. I'm seeing them on Oct. 17. CAN NOT WAIT. Def one of my top 5 bands of all time. Been listening since 06 back when Mark hoppus had them on his podcast. haha. I just bought a Red Tree vinyl on ebay too!

*crying stars* 09/09/09 04:10 PM

This is such an awesome exclusive. Can't wait to listen.

elonman05 09/09/09 04:13 PM

It boggles my mind that this band isn't bigger than they are. They absolutely OWN at life

underthetalking 09/09/09 04:38 PM

Still waiting for the release.

travis113p 09/09/09 04:43 PM

such an epic album.

Yellowcard2006 09/09/09 04:46 PM

The beginning of "The Way" reminded me of "What's My Age Again". Nice.

gladnads 09/09/09 04:57 PM

TSLROCKS 09/09/09 07:14 PM

Love this album! Took me a few listens to really get into it but I'm liking this more and more each time I listen to it. This has the potential to be one of the top 5 of the year

jennaksquared 09/09/09 07:31 PM

Could someone give me a suggestion as to which Moneen release to start with? I've always heard nothing but good things about them, and have been meaning to give them a listen for a while.
