btw, i'm 100% oppose to the idea of a joker recast which by the looks of it isn't going to happen.

I always remember hearing he would have been the main focus for the next film as well.

i'm not too too familiar with some of the landmark batman arcs/trades - what are some compelling stories with the riddler involved?

I think Nolan realizes that recasting the Joker would be a very poor decision.
Also, JGL would do a fantastic job as the Riddler. Kid's half-insane as it is. LOVE HIM.

Here is that link I mentioned above, btw.

maybe i'm nitpicking but i think he looks too similar to ledger? similar facial structure/features, but i suppose in costume and method it'd be a different story.

I'd like to see the casting grid in question, just to see what else is being considered.

batman 3:

phillip seymour-hoffman as the penguin

JG-L as the riddler

i'd also like to see bane brought in as the muscle for one or both of these characters.

no catwoman or joker recast please.

Christopher Nolan has already stated that he really isn't into the Penguin.

aw. that kind of sucks. i worry if JG-L can handle a lead role of this kind of importance. i'd like to see him given the chance, though.

i would kill for heath ledger as the joker again.

FirstShowing.net is reporting they have a “reliable inside source” with a studio casting grid that has The Riddler listed as the villian for Batman 3. With this year’s San Diego Comic Con starting up this week, many have been suspecting some sort of announcement regarding the much anticipated follow-up to 2008′s The Dark Knight. Rumors surrounding this project have been absolutely bonkers in the past, but FirstShowing is saying “this news should be considered confirmation that The Riddler is the villain” in Batman 3. They’re also saying that the actor currently listed on that same casting grid is none other than Inception‘s Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He is listed as “interested” next to The Riddler, despite the age listed for the mysterious villian being 35-45. Joe is only 29 by the way. So how accurate could this all be? They want to keep the JGL part listed a rumor, but The Riddler part as confirmed.

Get the full scoop on the “rumor” and the “confirmation” over at FirstShowing.net

Great novel, but I've always regarded The Killing Joke as the best. Actually showed how fucked up the Joker is, at the same time giving him some humanity.

Batman Hush is good. The Riddler is one of the main villains.

Nolan better not drive JGL to real life death due to deep character or I'll be fucking real pissed.

I'd imagine JGL doing something similar work ethic wise to equal/top Heath's Joker character role. They better watch him 24/7 outside of the set.

I'd put Dark Victory above The Killing Joke.
