The Dark Knight Rises (Christopher Nolan, 2012) (SPOILERS)

According to this http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/it...ng-3rd-batman/ Nolan has agreed to do another Batman film
Quote:

EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros is trying to ready its DC Comics stalwart Superman to soar again on the Big Screen, and the studio has turned to Chris Nolan to mentor development of the movie. Our insiders say that the brains behind rebooted Batman has been asked to play a "godfather" role and ensure The Man Of Steel gets off the ground after a 3 1/2-year hiatus. Nolan's leadership of the project can set it in the right direction with the critics and the fans, not to mention at the box office. Besides, Nolan is considered something of a god at Warner Bros and has a strong relationship with the studio after the success of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Though he wasn’t obligated to do so, he gave the studio first crack at his spec script Inception, and Warner Bros was able to buy it before other studios even got a sniff. While Nolan completes that Leonardo DiCaprio-starrer for a July 16th release, he's also hatched an idea for Warner Bros' third Batman installment. Now his brother and frequent collaborator Jonathan "Jonah" Nolan, and David Goyer who co-wrote Batman BeginsThe Dark Knight, are off scripting it. and penned the story for (See 'FlashForward' Showrunner Exits For Features).

Let the hype begin

drudo182 02/10/10 01:03 PM

Yep.

IAmNietzche 02/10/10 01:07 PM

Don't really care.

I am Mick 02/10/10 01:08 PM

Kind of don't want Goyer involved. I thought the Nolan bro's rocked the Dark Knight just fine without him

FondestMemory 02/10/10 01:12 PM

goyer just left flash forward to start writing with jonathan.

and they didn't do the dark knight without him. he had a very large part in the story.

Git yr head out of yr ass. Goyer wrote a fuck load of Knight.

drudo182 02/10/10 01:16 PM

Word. He was heavily involved in both features...

drewinseries 02/10/10 01:20 PM

Definitely excited for this.

aoftbsten 02/10/10 02:05 PM

Awesome, won't live up to the hype of Dark Knight though.

EvilZeppelin 02/10/10 02:05 PM

Fuck Superman, long live Batman!

zachff 02/10/10 02:05 PM

Nolan walking away from Batman would've been a terrible move. No surprise here

ActorInThisPlay 02/10/10 02:06 PM

can't wait

bard 02/10/10 02:10 PM

Pretty much. Then everyone can claim they've been a fan of theirs for years.

It better not be Michael Caine, he's too cool to ever die

Am I the only one who doesn't want this?

yeah and if you liked the other 2, there is no way you wouldn't be hoping for a 3rd.

nivek87 02/10/10 03:10 PM

Explains why Goyer left flashforward

ned.89 02/10/10 03:20 PM

So excited for this.

he makes me want a butler even more.

Talib Scottie 02/10/10 03:44 PM

Cool. I'll go see it.

drudo182 02/10/10 03:49 PM

Anyone who says they don't want another one because The Dark Knight was soooooooooo good needs to get over yourselves. The second that film was over you were already stroking it awaiting the next movie. Christopher Nolan and his brother are working on this film. Some of you act as if Brett Ratner is taking over or something.

Said people will be going gaga when you hear the plot and the first image pops online and you'll jump right back on the Batman/Nolan bandwagon. Okay.

I'll save this post for when you start going off on something, bud.

It's all relative. Some of us blow our loads on instrumental hip hop, some it's concerning comic book movies. One isn't better than the other necessarily.

Yellowcard2006 02/10/10 05:05 PM

good news

drudo182 02/10/10 05:08 PM

People aren't swaying me. They're just pissing me off with their negativity about a third film before anything has even happened.

meroki22 02/10/10 07:07 PM

As long as Nolan is on board I'm there.

Agreed, well said

gilatron5000 02/10/10 07:51 PM

I can't wait for haters to jump on the Superman bandwagon after the movie comes out.

Not that I wouldn't love for Superman to gain the new relevance Batman did after Batman Begins, but I would personally find it amusing.

*crying stars* 02/10/10 08:10 PM

I figured he would, and I'm happy. Now people can keep on speculating about villains.

As for Superman, I rather liked Brandon Routh, but who knows what's happening with a reboot.

danielineffigy 02/10/10 08:12 PM

MMMMMMMMMMWHERESFALCONI

I'm excited though.

Warner should kill one of the stars just to generate that kind of hype, it isn't murder, just good publicizing.

poppa Q 02/10/10 09:44 PM

Did Sean delete his posts in here?

cassusriff 02/11/10 01:07 AM

When the title of the movie is announced, I'll be in that thread.

You can call me a douchebag all you want, because to me you're nothing but a fucking fanboy. So I don't want to see a third one, I just asked a simple question, wasn't being a dickhole about it like most of the children in here. Get over it, it's a fucking movie about a dude who wears a skin-tight rubber suit and fights crime.

The first one...well made, great origin film
The second one...most over fuckin rated film I've seen since Titanic. Nowhere near as good as Batman Begins. Heath Ledger was in it...BFD, he was good at what he did in the film, but it was nowhere near his best performance

...so no, maybe I don't have high hopes for a third film. So go eat a dick

For sure. I loved Routh. His contract expired awhile back I think so I doubt they would go with him again though. Never know.

So you're reasoning for not wanting it is different than what I was even "ranting" about. Nice try, kid.

Who, villain-wise, are you hoping to see?

sevinw0rds 02/11/10 12:41 PM

Never in a million years did I expect to see any antagonism in this thread. I'm usually of the camp that believes that sequels are extremely tiresome, especially at this point in the timeline of entertainment, but Christopher and Jonathan Nolan are quality story-tellers. If they have somewhere they want to take this, I'm hella stoked to see where that is.

And the bit about Superman is great as well. It'd be amazing if they gave Brandon another shot, but it looks unlikely.
