James Montgomery (MTV.com Staff Writer) Interview

I know it's taken quite some time to get this completed, but you can finally read my interview with MTV.com Staff Writer, James Montgomery, right here. Yes, he is the gentleman that writes all those articles we link to here on our site. It's a really interesting read, especially for those of you who want to become journalists, and I'm sure all of you will enjoy it. Please check it out; enjoy!

really good interview. he made some very good points about music today and mtv and he likes pretty awesome music (archers of loaf, plastic constellations). i always thought 'Another Morning Stoner' would get and you will know by the trail of dead huge. oh well

All emo bands might look the same
even sound the same
but hey I dont see alot of them using each others lyrics
or drum beats
or guitar riffs
this guy sounds like a tool
fuck it im going to watch sweet sixteen with my sister and listen to my favorite myspace band(s)

To be fair, he kind of agrees with you on that,

It's true that there's a lot of similar sounding bands around at the moment but I'm with you- who cares? Just listen to the music you like!!

it's very weird how MTV and the MTV in the UK are different......... half the bands that are on rotation on your mtv would be totally crazy if they appeared on ours. Not to say we've avoided fall out boy. nope, i dont think anyone has

As an 18-year-old set on journalism as a future career, thanks to Jared and James Montgomery for this, I enjoyed reading and learning from it.

There has been one or two occasions when I've hated on this guy (and MTV's) writing style and indeed content, but this interview has definately increased my respect for him. I will read any future articles of his with renewed interest.
