"Here I Am" was my jam.

Agreed! As far as "defining" goes. But everything this band did was great in some way. What that band did pre-Black Tape was impressive because they took a seemingly tired genre (if you could call "street punk" a genre) and make it their own. It's a shame Bury Me Standing never saw the light of day. Y'know, outside of that Internet leak. |

I miss these guys so much, I could never find "black tape" anywhere around here until eventually I got really lucky and some kid at college hooked me up with it. Awesome album. |
"No Revolution" is in Tony Hawk Underground and I love it
|
I was at their last show ever, at Knitting Factory NY, and it was amazing. Kids had flown in from Japan, and maybe also Scotland (?) for the show.
If my memory serves correctly, they closed the set with No Revolution, saying "This is the last song the Explosion will ever play." The crowd, of course, chanted for an encore, the guys came back out and said, "I can't believe we're doing this," and played No Revolution again. TWICE. So they stayed true to their word and gave the audience a final encore. Man, such a good band... |
Saw them in '05, loved them :)
and Black Tape is epic. |
One of my all time favorite bands ... they`re missed so much ... Bury Me Standing needs a proper vinyl release ... wasn´t their talk about Paper & Plastic doin it at one point?!?
