One of the coolest bands I've come across roaming around our Self-Promotion Forum, Modern Rivals roped me in with their title, which included "RIYL: Death Cab for Cutie, Ra Ra Riot, The National." And it didn't hurt that they were offering their new self-titled EP for free download at their bandcamp page, either. I love free stuff, and I know you do too. Upon downloading, I discovered their comparisons were pretty spot on. Charmingly earnest indie-pop songwriting and sprightly chamber pop flourishes make their little record essential listening, and hopefully a sign of good things yet to come.

I love this EP. Been listening to it all week.
