Surprise, They Cover Ke$ha

Velocity Records/Rise Records have signed Georgia's Woe, Is Me. The band will enter the studio later this month to record their debut, Number[s], before embarking on The Artery Foundation Tour.

aradiantsunrise 04/12/10 09:25 AM

Normally I'm not one to give a crap about what people look like in a band but what the fuck is on that one dude's head?

brothaman 04/12/10 09:25 AM

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah just look at these dudes! look that the singers hair! but really, gross.

Wings That Work 04/12/10 09:26 AM

I'm going to go ahead and judge this book by its cover even though I like a lot of rise bands.

And a 7 piece? What?

danielineffigy 04/12/10 09:27 AM

lol. The ridiculous hair guy is the drummer, previously in Of Machines, another Rise band.

lol.

Mr. November 04/12/10 09:29 AM

If I looked like them I'd name my band Woe, Is Me too.

The Revisionist 04/12/10 09:29 AM

I think you guys just blew their "BIG changes in 30 MINUTES" post, that's not very nice.

Yontsey 04/12/10 09:31 AM

Not awful but not original. Wouldn't listen to them. Will fit in perfectly with Rise.

tyramail 04/12/10 09:31 AM

why are there so many of them?

Blake Solomon 04/12/10 09:31 AM

nice touch with the comma, really gives me time to think about all the woe in my life.

to achieve a level of intricacy we've yet to experience

aradiantsunrise 04/12/10 09:35 AM

Surprise, Surprise, they sound like 95% of Rise Records' current roster.

NateFoundGlory 04/12/10 09:36 AM

An ironic top 40 pop hit done by a Rise band? And one by Ke$ha, to boot?! How novel!

brothaman 04/12/10 09:37 AM

damn, they put another pic up and the dude cut his hair. mustve just done it.

i guess that would be the only explanation.

YoTengoRabbi 04/12/10 09:42 AM

I'd check this out later when I a feeling spiffy, so I can get pissed and bring myself back down to neutral.

Edit: Got impatient. Sweet hair ftw.

NegativeCreep 04/12/10 09:42 AM

rise strikes again.

And here I thought it was to try to make up for their lack of talent.

Whereisreggie 04/12/10 09:45 AM

Ick

lurker411_k9 04/12/10 09:46 AM

that Ke$ha cover is hilarious.

They still look like dipshits. With the hair and the dude in the middle's piercings.

i_was_a_lid 04/12/10 09:53 AM

What the fuck is with all the septum piercing? Do people really like to look like bulls?

HometownHero 04/12/10 09:54 AM

My lap top browser couldn't even fit all of them on it lol. Two dudes for vocals, still leaves five others. Fuck that is stupid. And the Kesha cover is shit. And the original songs are garbage. Not surprised one bit

lotusmilano 04/12/10 09:56 AM

They look like a slightly edgier version of O-town

barkingincision 04/12/10 10:01 AM

this sounds exactly like sleeping like sirens
this sounds exactly like of machines
this sounds exactly like broadway
this sounds exactly like we came as romans

i am so sick of the state of heavy 'underground' music. i could write a fucking book.

Mudkip 04/12/10 10:05 AM

They sound like every other Rise band. Not that I'm complaining, I can tolerate this type of music, but they don't bring anything new to the table.

Bruised26 04/12/10 10:08 AM

I am embarrassed to live in Georgia. I cannot stand this band, but everyone in the local scene thinks they are the Gods of Music.

COREhorizon 04/12/10 10:09 AM

Kids who like Attack Attack and Bring me the horizon just jizzed...

and I died a little on the inside.

makeoutmags 04/12/10 10:09 AM

starting a band with seven people in it - a good way to never make a living off touring

Hahah, how the fuck are these guys going to make ANY money?

andthetruthwill 04/12/10 10:15 AM

Sweet. Velocity is really building up. These guys sound awesome.

WerdnaNBD 04/12/10 10:16 AM

haters gonna hate

EightOEightDrop 04/12/10 10:17 AM

rise records makes me hate music.

Jason_Merch 04/12/10 10:19 AM

I wouldn't even say that they do the swoop. they have fucking side mullets.

Aperi Oculos 04/12/10 10:21 AM

The weird thing is if they didn't have Rise's cliche screaming parts they almost have a resemblance to TREOS. At least from what I'm hearing in "Hell or High Water".

flask 04/12/10 10:23 AM

my band is trying to make it big right now. should we cover Telephone by Lady Gaga or Baby by Justin Bieber?

AsktheElevator 04/12/10 10:28 AM

Coverbydesign 04/12/10 10:37 AM

I found these dudes by being bored and wonder where the fuck Austin there old drummer went. Found his twitter then checked out his band. I have a feeling they are going to put a soild record. And I am glad they got signed but I am also happy that this band has a vocalist that can fucking sing his ass off.

John Nolan did.

Sloth7 04/12/10 10:46 AM

I can't believe it takes 7 people to make music this bad.

UnderMyDreams 04/12/10 10:54 AM

Their cover is so terrible.
