A Chat with Pat

Dunno why, but that question pissed me off, good interview though, can't wait to here the album. |
Nice interview.
|
Excited to hear his solo stuff
|
not really a ton of new info. i'm just itching to get some of the music at this point, i think i've heard him talk about it enough.
the one thing that stood out to me was that he said that it wouldn't be a rock record. not that it was surprising or anything, but i guess it means his album will be more different from fob than i thought it would be. i was kind of assuming that it would be generally going in the same direction that fob's albums had been heading, away from punk for sure, but still maintaining a rock feel in the general sense. |

Also, can't wait to hear some actual music instead of more interviews |
I'm very stoked to hear these songs
|
Really looking forward to the solo album
|
When's this solo record coming out?
|
No date announcement on the solo record yet, but fuck me if FOB never reunites.
|
this interview really didn't say anything new. i hoped that he would have at least given some sort-of time firm of when we can't expect the album to come out. although if my memory is correct i remember him telling MTV, i think it was, that the solo album will be mixed in May.
|
I can think of other bands where the lead singer wasn't really the main guy, the focus of the attention.
Wentz (obviously). Good interview but nothing was really new, wished he would have talked more about touring; it would be nice to have heard him say he was going to play a show or two down east as a solo performer and not in FOB. |
The first teaser video was pretty sweet, so I wouldn't mind seeing a new one soon. Can't wait to hear the new songs.
|
is he gonna pull a McCoy and go by "Pat Stump" or "Patti Stump" on this record?
/bad joke. |

I still don't know how to feel about any of this. I canrt listen to a single FOB song without getting a little pissed off. Hopefully Patrick comes through and his album will be just what I need.

Would you ever make a solo record you have a killer voice :D |
He's very modest. Patrick, FOB were not a "somewhat popular band", they were stupidly popular.
Still can't wait for his new stuff. We need some new teasers or demos, to hear how it's going. ;-) |
What's lame is that the conflict between Pete's lyrics and Pat's R and B instincts is probably why they were so awesome. It's gonna be like and audio PB and J without the Peanut Butter. Still tasty, but not quite filling.
|
I understand that Patrick is modest, and I understood his point about rock music not being his go-to sound, but he's crazy to say that he's "not that comfortable" with rock music. You can't write 4 full-length rock records- two of which are platinum sellers- and claim that you aren't comfortable with rock music. I mean damn, if those aren't sufficient credentials for being a formidable rock songwriter, practically no one qualifies ha ha.
|
Anxious to hear his solo stuff. Hope it's not disappointing.
|
Very excited for his album
|
i would recognize him in a heartbeat he should head over to new york

Haha I love how modest and like...nervous Patrick is. He's always been like that in the interviews I've seen. He seems like such a nice, genuine guy. Anyways, I'm really really excited for the new stuff. He seems so happy, which kind of makes me sad. I hope he doesn't have a feeling like FOB was holding him back or something. And the part where he said "I don't think about the future of FOB" made me sad. I really hope they get back together, they are my favorite band. =/ |

FOB better be back. i'll be pissed off if they dont

He is SO not coming back to Fall Out Boy.......

that was a nice interview. can't wait to hear his solo stuff :)
|
The way he talks is almost like if he doesn't like Rock music...

Also, I think that the only people who truly *matter* are those who could potentially recognize Patrick. not trying to be an elitist, but, still. |

I am excited to hear his record - can't wait. Hopefully after all of this is over and done with, FOB will get back together? |

I think this is what everyone in FOB needed. I don't think Patrick feels comfortable in the "emo" tween rock genre anymore and feels the need to mature as an artist. Plus I think the rest of the guys started to miss their old hardcore days......nevertheless, still excited for Patrick's solo stuff

As excited as I am for Patrick, it makes me a little upset that he says he isn't comfortable with the "rock atmosphere" or whatever it was. I mean, Fall Out Boy was and still is a great band with rock roots, and he was a part of that for years. I don't know. It would make me the happiest person ever if they get back together, but I, in no way, want to take away from Patrick's solo experience right now.

Patrick needs to give himself more credit. Just because his fans don't ask him for autographs every time he's outside doesn't mean we don't LOVE him! =] |
