My band in high school covered "My Own Worst Enemy" at a birthday party we played... the place lit up. Good times.

Got A Place in the Sun as my Easter present a long long time ago. I loved it. Zip Lock bag was the jam.

Still got my copy of A Day in the Sun! I remember I picked it up last year from the bargain bin, thinking "Hey this is that band that did My Own Worst Enemy!"

grooveshark.com stream them front to back

If you like the singles you need to give the rest of their stuff a shot.

always thought "zip-lock" was a better song than "my own worst enemy."

Agreed, the video for "My Own Worst Enemy" was much more fun though and probably had a lot to do with the success of that song. Back when MTV still played music videos and when they were made for more than youtube.

Never got into this band beyond Worst Enemy, but man was that song awesome

Hagysaurus Rex 08/25/10 06:40 AM

I always liked the singles well enough, but I never actually liked this band until I saw them in concert. They walked out on stage with their instruments and a case of Miller Lite and said "We're Lit. We're gonna play a bunch of cheesy songs and drink all night."

It turned out to be one of the more fun shows I went to that year.

Just put this band on for the first time in years, then see this article. wow.

"a place in the sun" was one of several albums that provided the soundtrack to my Senior year in highschool and my senior Summer (along with "enema of the state", "americana"...and...ugh...Limp Bizkit). I still give it play from time to time. it is a great Summer record that doesn't try to be pretentious. thanks for giving them some props.

Wow. This just made my crummy day here in PA much more optimistic. LIT was an awesome band and "A Place In The Sun" is one of the albums that I can honestly saw I can pop in and listen to front to back over and over. 10 years later and I am still listening to this frequently. As for the other albums they are also awesome but the mainstream success made the band who they are. All seem like awesome dudes and I hope that they can come out with a new CD. Summer 2011 anyone?

Wow man. I am in the same boat as you. Those albums were my Senior Year too and MANY MANY memories to all those songs.
