Jacksn 09/24/10 12:09 PM

cwhit412 09/24/10 12:09 PM

Generic Risecore?

Yes.

Keagan Ilvonen 09/24/10 12:11 PM

Woe is Me really need to break away from this genre. Their singer is one of the best out there and they restrict themselves to making the same cookie cutter music as every other Rise band.

you would hope that but I doubt they will.I mean I like the band..but really I doubt they will.

Jacksn 09/24/10 12:15 PM

Attack Attack! 2.0?

more heart 09/24/10 12:19 PM

Personally, I'm really digging this. Of course, my positive remarks are met by the same old " This band is generic" posts.

LH9 09/24/10 12:21 PM

This sort of depresses me that I'm from around Columbus. They have changed their sound to move along with the trendy genre's over the past 2-3 years. Attack Attack! got big so they did stuff like AA! now bands are taking after For The Fallen Dreams, so a big surprise that they sound similar now. Rise needs to start signing more bands with talent, not 20 bands that you can tell little difference between.

Meeze 09/24/10 12:24 PM

shooooooooooocker

circletheworld 09/24/10 12:24 PM

i thought this was supposed to be an unexpected signing..

Pretty much this. I still like a decent amount of the bands on the label tho.

the seventeenth 09/24/10 12:25 PM

Everyone at Rise must be deaf if they can't see how similar every single band they sign sound.

I'm hoping their screamer quits and they progress musically as Emarosa and DGD did, one of the few Rise bands I think has some actual potential to make more than this bullshit Rise music shit.

They sound like AA without synth, so i think that's technically a downgrade, though its hard to tell. Really depends on which piece of shit you think smells worse.

Exactly. They're making some good money now with AA!, you think they'd sign some bands with actual talent. But for every PM Today or Tides of Man Rise has they have at least five shitty bands like this that sound the same, and most of them are just opening support on tours for a few years until they break up because they don't stand out at all from anyone other band out there.

This.

InTheatersNow 09/24/10 12:31 PM

Drummer is the only one without a swoop/mullet so I like him.

No way. The unexpected signing is probably a well-known band. Give it some time.

LH9 09/24/10 12:33 PM

I think the unexpected signing was Your Demise.

They should kick out like 3 of the members they don't need. I doubt it will happen tho.

LexXchaos 09/24/10 12:35 PM

Alright. But where's that wtf group?

Dirge07 09/24/10 12:35 PM

I swear I've heard these songs before...
...say what? It's just like nearly every other band in the genre? AND like almost every Rise band? That makes total sense now.

He used to have a cool kid swoop. Someone in their band had to look tuff..

jaredohgren 09/24/10 12:37 PM

Three words: Featuring Caleb Shomo

emilyonthecoast 09/24/10 12:39 PM

good for them but typical.

xsandwichesx 09/24/10 12:41 PM

....and another Ohio band added to the Rise Rostor.

_><_ 09/24/10 12:44 PM

This band is complete shit.

BIGSALE 09/24/10 12:46 PM

He's good, he just needs to stop hiding behind that monotonous "harmonizing" effect.

cubine 09/24/10 12:53 PM

Mulletcore? I'm not one to judge a band on appearance but wow those are some bad haircuts.

Also, it would be REALLY nice if there was a metalcore band out there where the clean vocals sounded at least a LITTLE different than everyone else's. Seriously, every single one of these newer metalcore bands have cleans that all sound exactly the same. No difference whatsoever. What happened to individuality in voices?

Like these guys: www.myspace.com/hexxusrock They have their share of breakdowns, the piano lines and guitar riffs aren't all that original, but at least his voice, while imperfect, sounds unique from the norm. (sorry gotta show some love to one of my local faves haha)

COREhorizon 09/24/10 12:54 PM

This was totally worth the two news posts leading up to the signing...

TheRealJohnOC 09/24/10 12:55 PM

who?

Lawliet 09/24/10 01:02 PM

Who?

StepsInADance 09/24/10 01:04 PM

How unexpected!

Matt Brueckner 09/24/10 01:08 PM

so another attack attack? great...

Peerless 09/24/10 01:12 PM

Same old screaming shit + whiny vocals? I can only take so much of that... and there are only a handful of bands that actually sound good doing that.

FourStarters 09/24/10 01:15 PM

Fuck, ANOTHER shitty Ohio band gets signed?

Attn: labels - someone throw some money at The Sidekicks.

Juan Jose 09/24/10 01:16 PM

I don't mind them, they're generic but enjoyable

I agree. I got their new CD because of their clean singer. I'm all for heavy music, but the screaming makes the songs less appealing.

tyramail 09/24/10 01:28 PM

i admittedly like a lot of rise bands, but i'm not very impressed with these guys.

i agree with all of the above comments. although most of the bands do sound alike, i really like this guys clean vocals. they have some neat sounding parts in their songs. id still say their cookie cutter, but theyre a step above some of the other bands i feel like. their cookie cutter is the one with all the neat shapes ha.

Crimson_Curse 09/24/10 02:07 PM

either way... lets say Rise signs bands everyone on this site likes (in fact they just signed two of those, though i have no idea when they will announce it.)

you'll just complain and ask WHY?!?!

Rise runs a respectable label, despite the quality of some of their bands. they have a great distribution, push most of their bands, and help get them on some pretty respectable tours.

Heroin Robot 09/24/10 02:15 PM

If you sat all the rise bands in one room and had them listen to five random songs by themselves, they would not know who's was who's.
