You guys should definitely do a cd/dvd for a show on this tour, Mutemath is doing the same thing right now, that’s kinda what I’m picturing in my head for Mae: record a venue and have a live cd of the best songs that are audio recorded.
And I think Windsor Drive sounds more like Mae than Copeland but the singer reminds me of Dave’s voice more.
Oh man! Great idea with saying “It might be nice to take the most powerful moments on each record and do away with some of the segues and instrumental pieces or re-approach them in the studio a little bit.” The first two eps are great (and I’m sure the third is too) but combing the best songs onto one cd (or digital) would be great! For a cd person like myself a compliation would be the icing on an already massive cake, call it “Day’s End” or something that wraps up all three titles in one. Any way you do it, that’s a great idea. Jon Foreman did that with his fall, winter, spring, summer ep project. He combined a few tracks including 2 new ones and called it “Limbs and Branches.”
I’m glad you guys defined your own success, it says a lot about what you guys are about and I know that’s why the fans want to be a part of Mae.
That’s my response to what Dave said but seeing them in concert for the first time (hopefully not the last) will be an experience to remember, just a great group of guys.
