Jonathan Bautts

2010 started off slow and, despite the efforts of my favorite director (Nolan) and Pixar, landed the worst summer season in recent memory. Thankfully, it finished with a bang, and this is probably the first time I can ever remember not being disappointed by at least one of the major award contenders.

01. Inception
02. The Social Network
03. Toy Story 3
04. The King’s Speech
05. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
06. 127 Hours
07. The Fighter
08. Black Swan
09. The Town
10. Buried
11. Let Me In
12. Kick-Ass
13. Fair Game
14. Iron Man 2
15. Shutter Island
16. Never Let Me Go
17. Exit Through The Gift Shop
18. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I
19. Get Him To The Greek
20. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
21. TRON: Legacy
22. The Kids Are All Right
23. Robin Hood
24. The Book Of Eli

The Crazies
Edge Of Darkness
The Losers
The Other Guys

Mad Men has become my current favorite show, and this season was one of its best. The Pacific was a great followup to Band Of Brothers, as expected, while Community currently is on a creative run like I've never seen in a comedy before. Modern Family is close behind, Lost's end was good but disappointing, Rubicon was tragically canceled, and The Daily Show continues to be the most important show on television. Now hopefully I can find the time to start on Breaking Bad.

02. The Pacific
03. Community
04. The Daily Show

09. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
10. The Walking Dead

Strong showings for Meg and Dia and Bareilles make me happy to see.

1. The Pacific is my favorite bit of TV this year, hands down.

2. SoCo at Bamboozle Left was an amazing show.

I agree and disagree elsewhere but I will be checking out some of this music that I'm not familiar with.

Good TV List. Love the top 10 albums..

..but Mumford overrated??!? You crazy. Great album and awesome live show.

You're not crazy. I have the same thoughts about Mumford (do love Little Lion Man though). Yet you have them as an honorable mention?

Love the Meg & Dia love and the Maroon 5 mention - their albums never disappoint for me.

Better Off Ted! I miss having Phil in my life.

I was at that Yellowcard - one of the best ones I've been to - just a lot of energy in there you don't see at a lot of concerts.

Big fan of Bruno Mars as well - he seems like one of the few mainstream artists with a legit live voice.

I feel like Sigh No More only had a handful of standout songs while everything else was low key and sounded the same. So I thought the album was ok, hence the honorable mention, but didn't (and still don't) understand why a ton of my friends and media people were flipping out over them, hence the overrated. I think they have a lot of potential but feel that album didn't earn all the praise/sales it got them, but I'm hopeful their next record will show a big improvement and be more dynamic like their live show.

Yeah, I like his stripped down, live takes better than the album versions.

If you like Greg Laswell, you gotta check out Andrew Belle. His album The Ladder is incredible. I'm confident anyone who would actually take the time to listen to him would have this album in their tops of 2010.

I totally feel you on gigs, I went to 25 this year.

Also feel ya on one of saddest breakups was Copeland; When I interviewed Deas Vail during Warped, they pointed out that hearing Aaron Marsh say "We've BEEN Copeland" at the end of every night was a bummer, especially the last show ever.
