Verizon's iPhone 4 is not compatible with the network's 4G network. Verizon decided the additional time to make it compatible with the new network was not worth delaying its release. Should Verizon have waited to release the iPhone 4 until it was compatible its 4G network? [Poll]

Apple

Apple has made a secret $3.9 billion investment that one analyst believes is for screens.

Apple was the largest mobile phone manufacturer in terms of revenue last quarter. The company reported profits that were $2 billion higher than Wall Street expectations.

Apple's future mobile devices might utilize solar power.

As evidence of how powerful AT&T's exclusivity contract for the iPhone was, 16% of AT&T iPhone users plan to switch to Verizon now that it has access to the iPhone 4. Speaking of Verizon's iPhone 4, the device has WiFi hotspot compatibility but due to CDMA limitations cannot support data access while someone is talking on the phone.

Steve Jobs has decided to take another medical leave of absence. New reports are in that Jobs reportedly traveled to Switzerland for cancer treatment in 2009. Tim Cook, who has been left in charge of Apple both times that Steve Jobs has had to leave for medical reasons, has been called the "most powerful gay man in Silicon Valley."

iPad users will have access to the entire Playboy catalog in March.

A 14-year-old boy created an iOS game that reached the top of the free game charts.

The iPad 2 may feature a higher-resolution 1536x800 display (or possibly a 2048x1536 display). The device might also feature a proximity censor that would automatically activate it when a cover is removed.

Apple may remove the home button from its future portable devices.

Apple has told newspapers that it will not permit free iPad newspapers for print subscribers.

Nokia has given up on its Ovi Unlimited service that intended to compete with iTunes.

shame on the stupid millionaire for giving this douche 1 million dollars. I know people who need it much more...or better yet...100 people who could each use 10k...what a fucking shame...put the 1 million toward families suffering through Cancer and going through an eviction cause they have no money for their bills/rent. this really pisses me off.

Cool to see all these uses for the Nook Color - I'm pretty happy with my non rooted version though. I hope B&N starts updating soon, I'd like some of these battery life, software, and cpu enhancements.

I think it's a mistake switching to verizon iphone 4 right now when iphone 5 will be out in june/july and that would have a good possibility of being LTE ready and would surely be better.
Att will be using a form of LTE too so apple will have extra motivation to pop that out.

I knew I forgot something! You'll have to wait until Feb 10 when the Verizon iPhone is released for an untethered jailbreak. Geohot doesn't want to reveal the exploit until after iOS 4.2.5 is already out in the wild so Apple can't do a quick patch-job on it.
