Took a listen to Weatherbox. Part of me so badly wanted to be like ugh, they suck, *close window*, but to my surprise they're not bad at all. Thanks.

Braid coming out with a new album... this is all I have been listening to!

overitsi22 01/30/11 08:25 AM

Owen - New Leaves
Owen - At Home With Owen
Mumford and Sons - Sigh No More

xapplexpiex 01/30/11 08:27 AM

Sparks the Rescue - Eyes to the Sun. Very good pop-rock. The singer's voice sounds a lot like Craig Owens, but I like it a little better.

You, Me, and Everyone We Know - Some Things Don't Wash Out. I don't really see the Say Anything comparisons, but I still like the lyrics. "Livin' the Dream" is definitely my favorite track. Get this on bandcamp for only 8 buckaroos!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

The King's Speech. Believe the hype. I finally saw this and thought it was very awesome. The whole time I compared it to Good Will Hunting, another one of my favorites. Great acting, score, style. It was an inspirational drama that sprinkled in comedy relief that made the whole theater laugh. I highly recommend it!

I dig Eyes to the Sun. So catchy.

Still need to see The King's Speech.

Taco Bell. With so many of them going out of business left and right nowadays (in MA, anyway), you don't even know how huge that is for someone from my area. X-)

Haven't been listening to anything too hardcore lately (especially anything new) but I guess a little bit of this:

One of the best choruses I've heard in a while.

That is extremely depressing. :-( I'm glad I had Taco Bell yesterday.

As for my recs:
Now, Now - Neighbors
You, Me, & Everyone We Know - Some Things Don't Wash Out
Gold Motel - Summer House
Hellogoodbye - Would It Kill You?

I'm still trying to find a way to get to their show on Saturday, though. :-(

Seeing the recommendations for 127 Hours has me confused. Beyond the spectacular performance from James Franco, I didn't think the film was that wonderful.

My good things for the week:

The film snub I was most pissed about. Absolutely magical movie.

Going to see it tonight. Heart wonderful things.

Currently jamming to this, pretending it's the summer.

Game fucking rules.

Matty Ice 01/30/11 02:22 PM

^^ Excessive post, but they're all things I recommend highly. (With the exception of Blue Valentine, which I should be able to recommend enthusiastically later)

Definitely agree with you on 127 Hours. Completely overrated film. And LBP2 is so damn good.
