Scott Weber 02/24/11 10:50 AM

Thomas has Tulo listed twice, both at 47. bleh. i am emailing the site. some of these glitches are serious growing pains.

startBBtoday 02/24/11 10:55 AM

I'm not sure Ankiels is going to be able to round out his team

pand75 02/24/11 10:58 AM

yeah im going to talk to him tonight at work. he was too spend happy.

Scott Weber 02/24/11 10:59 AM

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the feedback. We are aware of the duplication issue and are looking into it, but we agree that this is unacceptable. We also have just added Tsuyoshi Nishioka to the player universe.

Thanks!

Scott Weber 02/24/11 10:59 AM

At least they are fast to respond.

Thomas Balkcom 02/24/11 11:00 AM

awesome.

troubledbyinsects 02/24/11 11:01 AM

glad they're fixing it.

startBBtoday 02/24/11 11:05 AM

Here's an updated spreadsheet totaling how much money each team has spent and how many slots they have left to fill. I figured I'd let you all do the math yourselves as to not help anyone out more than I should.

Scott Weber 02/24/11 11:16 AM

we're going to have to do 2 players over again in the draft. when i try to add players to a team, it is a complete clusterfuck of names in no alphabetical order. They need to get their shit together.

I'm Rico Brogna Fan Club.

Corey's team is so homerful. Yanks and Phillies everywhere haha

Scott Weber 02/24/11 12:07 PM

this league may have some bugs but their customer service is amazing. they're working on the duplicate issue right now and i asked them to alphabetize the add players list and they did it in like 10 minutes.

that's good. i really wonder if there will be a free agent list with stats attached or if we'll have to just search for free agents/have to figure out if a player is already owned.

I don't know. I've actually considered doing our scoring/roster management on some sort of Ottoneu/Yahoo combo. We'll see how it looks when all the teams are set.

The duplicate players have been fixed.

Tulo for Thomas, Ackley for Wedge.

i was thinking about that earlier too, but it would be such a pain in the ass to have to go to two sites to make transactions, roster moves, trades, etc.

Hey Scott,

Free agents can be grabbed through the Fantasy Leaders button on the FanGraphs toolbar. You should check that out:
http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasylead...h=0&ft=0&fl=40

Live scoring will just occur on the lineups page, and right now it requires a page refresh, though in the near future it will be just javascript running in the background.

Hope that helps!

Scott Weber 02/24/11 01:29 PM

let's start trading.

startBBtoday 02/24/11 01:34 PM

we can't until the draft is over, it's in the rules. we could have trades in place, but i'm not about to get into that confusion.

MyBestFiend 02/24/11 01:37 PM

Beltre and McGehee are on the block, in return for pitching.

That's awesome. Thanks for that.

SgtSmegma 02/24/11 02:00 PM

I actually like my team so far, outside of wasting $17 on Reynolds

II. THE AUCTION
  1. a. All owners will complete their rosters at the annual player auction to be conducted at the discretion of the league members and commissioner.
    b. Each owner receives $400 in auction money to fill his or her roster, including money spent on players retained from the previous season.
    c. Players are nominated by owners, using the previous season's reverse order of finish to determine the nomination order.
    d. Each owner must conclude the auction capable of filling out a starting lineup.
    e. Each owner can leave the auction at any time after fulfilling the requirement in line d. above. Once all 12 owners have left the auction, the auction is complete.
    f. Each owner must nominate a player in turn.
    g. You may not make any trades during the draft. Trade discussion is acceptable, however no trades can be processed or acted upon from the time the first player goes on auction until teams involved in the trade both have full rosters as defined above.

as for why i'd rather wait to even discuss trades is basically just that i'd rather everything be in place and everything before i sort all that stuff out. just for my own sanity, plus with the way some people are already very close to going over their cap it might get messy.

i'm getting so psyched about the second round of this draft, i wish it was tonight. it think it will go A LOT differently now that we all kind of know what's going on better.

troubledbyinsects 02/24/11 02:20 PM

i've gotta make sure i watch my spending in the second round of this. i need to save some money for during the season.

that's lame. this is a perfect time to trade IMO. re-set your strategy for the 2nd part of the draft.

RyanFTW 02/24/11 02:42 PM

Doesn't mean we don't start discussing trades.

Should we propose trade offers in PMs and then put our proposals in the thread for Commish approval?

CubbyNick42 02/24/11 08:53 PM

"Trade discussion is acceptable"

CubbyNick42 02/24/11 08:53 PM

Whoever Stockton is, awesome team.

homerful as in having 3 players from my favorite and 2 from a team i know a lot about? or homerful as in having a-rod cabrera and utley who are home run hitting threats?

i was in a shitty situation - i was extremely unprepared, kept timing out and lost internet connection all night. the problems i was having are most definitely fixed (changed ISP's today) and i still have some ideas on how to round out my team.

I'm not really looking to trade anyone right now, but i'll listen to offers. If anyone has a trade in mind, PM me. I'm Adam, or Ring Around The Posey.

Scott Weber 02/24/11 10:59 PM

it was just a joke, let's relax.

your team will be fine because a ton of money left. you can comfortably overbid on marginal players

wasn't taking offense, man! was just curious. sure, i can comfortably overbid but marginal players isn't what i'm looking for - especially when it comes to starting pitching. for my outfield i'm sure i can get a ton of value out of some of the players i have in mind.

FuryCore 02/25/11 03:17 PM

Man this league sounds incredibly fun after reading through this thread and reading all of the rules and stuff. I visit FanGraphs pretty frequently and can get immersed in the whole sabermetric side of things, wish I coulda seen this sooner and got me a spot in the league.

If anybody drops or somebody else wants to do one, I'm down.

aloneatlastnj 02/27/11 12:19 PM

when are we starting back up?

Scott Weber 03/02/11 08:48 AM

Draft resumes TONIGHT, same time as last week. Thomas can't make it and is looking for a fillin. I've asked CubbyNick, anyone else have somebody who might volunteer?

Scott Weber 03/02/11 01:09 PM

nobody? you guys are all still good for tonight, yeah?

troubledbyinsects 03/02/11 01:11 PM

yeah, i'll be there.

startBBtoday 03/02/11 01:15 PM

i'll be there

RyanFTW 03/02/11 01:29 PM

SgtSmegma 03/02/11 01:40 PM

If you can, email thomas at tmmk27@gmail.com so he can get the login info from him. thomas definitely can't make it.

Ok. I just texted him. I'll let you know when I hear back. I know he will do it unless he has something else going on

sounds good, then thomas can email him a general strategy if he wants or something after they get in touch.

MyBestFiend 03/02/11 02:12 PM

I'll be there.
