PM Today/Tides of Man Gone from Rise Website

PM Today and Tides of Man are no longer listed in the artists section on Rise Records' website.

Odd that FFTL is still listed.

kemichels 06/12/11 09:45 AM

Well...hopefully PMToday is still a band. Shit was good.

Dustin Harkins 06/12/11 09:46 AM

Good for pmtoday, I feel like their following and opportunities never grew from being on Rise. If they can do it on their own and not be in debt to a label, more power to them.

EDIT: Of course, if pmtoday is still a band that's the case...if not then I'm very upset about music's loss.

low_rising 06/12/11 09:49 AM

kinda makes sense, pmtoday have been inactive lately and tides havent found a replacement vocalist.
sucks, i hope both bands are still together.

DemBitties 06/12/11 09:51 AM

My reaction to PMToday and Tides of Man either getting dropped from Rise or breaking up completely.

Joe DeAndrea 06/12/11 09:54 AM

I don't get how some labels are so quick to erase bands from their site then keep others around for years later after they're gone. It's like a girl erasing her relationship status from Facebook, except she still has pics from her boyfriend from BEFORE in her profile pictures.

brandon_260 06/12/11 10:04 AM

Never got into pm, but I'm bummed about Tides. Still weird seeing Transit/AL4W/MO on the list.

Nope, Tides lost their singer. He's with Saosin now

Misread someone's post above me. Thank god.

StepsInADance 06/12/11 10:14 AM

Wow there goes two of Rise's more talented bands.
Hopefully they're headed for better things, I could really see PMToday getting picked up by Equal Vision.

COREhorizon 06/12/11 10:15 AM

Yeah I can understand Tides of Man, gonna be hard to replace Tillian.

Kacybraying 06/12/11 10:16 AM

Tillian Pearson from Tides of Man has his own band now called Archives. They put up a demo a few weeks ago. Its actually really good. A lot of people will say its a Tides clone but that's only because everyone associates his unique voice so strongly with that band. I think he did a demo with Saosin but there was never anything official about him joining the band.
I do hope everything is good in the world of PMToday. I love their music so much.

Well put, lol. I guess the reason being is so that if other kids see a band like From First to Last on the site, they'll freak and instantly love the record company. I mean, I was back in the day ("dear diary, my teen angst has a body count") a fan of theirs...

billy_yo 06/12/11 10:22 AM

Besides the new additions of the pop punk bands. These two are the best on rise...oh and this is hell

drevans18 06/12/11 10:22 AM

Every time I hear of one of these bands, it's always with the other.

dru 06/12/11 10:24 AM

saw this coming for pm, they didn't fit on that label

FFTL should have a b-sides album out this year. They keep em' listed so they can still make money from them.

diempty 06/12/11 10:35 AM

Pmtoday is fantastic. That would be a shame.

Java Nick 06/12/11 10:41 AM

It appears that American Me was dropped as well.

kidinthebushes 06/12/11 10:43 AM

Well isn't the lead singer of ToM apparently in Saosin now?

Lost two of their best bands

From what I saw on their facebook it kind of looks that way. They are discounting their merch and people people are hearing rumors of a break up. Hopefully their will start other projects

Meeze 06/12/11 11:12 AM

TOM not suprising (without Tllian, do they count as a band?)...but PM Today? Bummer. They won't get the exposure anywhere else.

niq nax 06/12/11 11:12 AM

Weird, Rise sent a care package to me with PM today and Tides of Man CDs after the whole JC incident. Maybe it was a sign, or they were just clearing them out.

AdamChildress 06/12/11 11:16 AM

Ruh Oh...That would be a shame for Rise.

Ashur 06/12/11 11:18 AM

Not sure Tides got dropped. Talked to the guys last week and they were talking about how supportive Rise was. So it'd be kind of surprising.

Miketheunicycle 06/12/11 12:04 PM

i want more pmtoday

applesandcyanid 06/12/11 12:12 PM

A Loss For Words, Man Overboard, Transit and Piebald are easily the best bands on this label :X Tides of Man and PM Today were both really good though.

Arguably the FUNNIEST moment ever from the Office. Oh Lord, made me die when I first watched it.

Anyway, I take it there's no official statement from the label? Rise seems pretty terrible at officially stating band changes, haha.

_><_ 06/12/11 12:34 PM

Wow, 2 best bands on rise (besides Transit).

I think that isn't a problem, they are bad. But if Tides break up I'll be very disappointed.

cubsml34 06/12/11 01:20 PM

My heart just dropped. PM has been selling their van and all their merch at discounted prices recently, and Tides has just been idling. Any of these break ups would upset me severely, 2 of my top 10 favorite bands right here.

They put out a demo with him on vocals, but they said before that were working with numerous singers. This guys fans really, really want him in Saosin, but until they make an announcement I wouldn't say anything.

Also Tillian is in Archives, and dudes i know PMT personally, and the last time i talked to them they were wanting to write new stuff, so that might be why, but also heard the bad rumors too(which most people know what bad rumors are when it comes to bands). But I caN'T BELIEVE THEY LET TIDES GO, THEY JUST FOUND A GUYS TO DO THEIR DEMOS WITH THEM

Kbak1221 06/12/11 02:11 PM

How does a band that is 3/4 brothers go about breaking up?

the PM boys are in good place right now, creative and progressing. Happy as hell for them

thesollopsist 06/12/11 02:23 PM

Interesting.

cbarry87 06/12/11 02:43 PM

pretty sure pmToday broke up. They've been advertising their touring van on Twitter for the last month or so

Portugal4142 06/12/11 03:43 PM

Well on the plus side I discovered who PM today is. They're excellent.

Yes! exactly what I came here for. I hope PM Today hasn't called it quits. I mean, not to be a stalker, but when they started selling their touring van my heart dropped. So talented and can't imagine what their next release will be bring.

floormaster925 06/12/11 05:03 PM

good thing...those bands were bringing knocking the shitty to awesome band on rise ratio off...i could see either band on eqaul vision.

Well put. Equal Vision would be a perfect fit for PM.

ThisDayForward 06/12/11 05:10 PM

This could ultimately be the best decision, considering the overwhelming talent that these bands have. but I can't completely talk shit about Rise without enough to back it up. It just appears that they have more shit bands then good ones holding them up.....well down really.
