Angels and Airwaves are Anxious

Angels and Airwaves' song "Anxiety" is now on iTunes.

Portugal4142 09/19/11 03:41 PM

This band sounds like blink182

VIVALAMATT 09/19/11 03:49 PM

I really really really like this song.

VIVALAMATT 09/19/11 03:49 PM

Also, let the haters roll in.

Although there's no more reason to hate AvA because their existence is no longer preventing Blink from being a band.

dash64 09/19/11 03:50 PM

I usually don't buy singles but this is tempting

jaredohgren 09/19/11 03:52 PM

This song is so good. Best thing they've put out in years.

Hands down, but it's nowhere near as good as the blink singles.

The Minn 09/19/11 04:08 PM

I definitely like. I was a fan of "Love" and how more stripped down it seemed, and always thought it was a lot better than I-Empire. People still seem to give Tom crap which I don't understand. The past is the past and they all, certainly, have moved on and forgiven.

I think there are some AvA singles that are better thank Blink singles, not all but there are some.

Truffle Shuffle 09/19/11 04:10 PM

I just think Tom either writes better melodies/hooks with Blink or working with Mark brings out the best of his melodies/hooks. This isn't really getting me, and I don't know if I am sub-consciously biased or not.

Prolly biased. Tom's always had the hooks/melodies. I think that's what was missing on +44's record, so maybe Tom brings out the best in Mark... ;)

I think the bring the best out in each other.

+44 had their hooks, and Angels & Airwaves has their hooks. But, blink-182 is still definitely better than both bands.

Ya I really don't get the crazy amount of hate towards AVA, especially from people that say "AVA is gay, but Blink is epic." I love AVA, especially LOVE, it's so good and it honestly still hasn't gotten old yet.

Gawyn 09/19/11 04:23 PM

I think I prefer the new AVA stuff to the new Blink 182 stuff

BigG1392 09/19/11 04:28 PM

such a good song. Tom is on a roll

Timekeeper 09/19/11 04:31 PM

I'm glad Tom seems to have embraced his "blink voice" as much as he can, even in AVA. There were hints of it in LOVE (Hallucinations and Young London come to mind) but this track wouldn't have been out of place on Neighborhoods.

Haha. Wrong. You can hate this band for releasing the same-sounding stuff for 5 years. Debut was great. Everything else. Meh

hectorial85 09/19/11 04:38 PM

Love this track/band.

You mean Neighborhoods by Angels and Airwaves featuring Mark Hoppus?

LOL I knew after listening to new blink people were gonna start saying that. Ghost on the Dance Floor definitely sounds like it could be an AVA track, and there are some chords that I can remember from AVA tracks. Plus, Tom sings on majority of the songs. I for one love blink's new album, but I also really like AVA so more music for me to enjoy. Do you not like new blink?

Hilarious :-d

I agree and I love the album!

Buying. Really dig this song. And seriously, why all the I-Empire hate? That record is so catchy.

I'm loving the new AvA sound.

knorr45 09/19/11 05:49 PM

Song is really solid. It will probably be looked over by the mainstream however, due to blink's return

SeanLayton 09/19/11 06:33 PM

This song is so good.

At least it's mastered better. Half of Neighborhood's sounds like shit because of the mastering.

I do too. AVA has always had more meaning in it.

I'm also not 16 anymore so the "I don't give a shit mentality" blink has always had I'm passed now.

Say Hello 87 09/19/11 07:18 PM

I pretty much despise the new Blink album, if it was 2005 I would love it, but there is literally no growth on it like there was on S/T. And I'm an avid blink fan since 2003. It could be that I'm not 17 anymore and I need more meaning in my music as a 24 year old dude, but AVA just resonates so much more.

Hate on me if you will, but that's my thoughts. I love this song. It's catchy as hell, super good chorus, and my 2nd most anticipated release besides Thrice.

dumb reason to "hate" a band. a little extreme i might add.

I would say blink hasn't had that mentality on a record since 2001

SeanEBoy2686 09/19/11 07:39 PM

Certain songs (i.e. Blink songs, Angels and Airwaves first album) compliment Tom's unique voice. This song does not do that. I find it whinier than normal.

Hah, I guess that is pretty extreme to hate a band. I have a complicated history with Blink/AVA that I don't want to go into. Sounds silly, I know.

In short, I think Tom is a fucking idiot. I do love some of his work though. Some.

Jaytothesyg 09/19/11 07:41 PM

Sigh. I love blink...

I always dog this band...But I really really liked this song

I respect your opinion but.....
Have you even listened to any blink lyrics from 2003 & 2011. They're not about girls, poo and farts

What "meaning" is there in AVA for you? They're just big stadium rock songs about vague feelings of excitement and maybe some war/space imagery. The bells and whistles decorating the instrumentation don't make a song more mature.

The new Blink album, while fine-not-stellar, at least has a few real, emotionally compelling moments on it. After Midnight alone feels more genuine than any single song I've heard from AVA. Ever.

People who still levy the "immature" comment toward Blink 182 aren't listening to the same band I'm listening to.
