Raw as fuck

What are J Cole's numbers? Let's push Blink to number one people!

Me & My Arrow 09/28/11 12:16 PM

What do you mean "not too shabby for a band that's been away for 6 years"? The fact that they've been away for so long accounts for half of the excitement about the release in the first place. The bias on this site is blinding.

Untitled opened at #3, so this is still pretty good.

I wonder what kind of effect the leak had, I mean obviously it had to do something to the numbers..

Zack Zarrillo 09/28/11 12:19 PM

Yus, had money down on 150k. I'd be so stoked

I think it helped honestly. Mark in a webchat the other day said he thought the leak gave confidence to people liking the album, and then hopefully purchased the album

It's called Google. J Cole is actually a really great rapper.

In the mainstream? Please. This site is an extremely small sub-sect of the music buying population ... and for most people: out of sight, out of mind. Most casual blink-182 fans from 6 years ago don't even know they had an album coming out.

By and large, bands that take time off - do not return to their former sales glory. By and large, the blink genre (and sales in general), as pointed out with numbers in the latest billboard magazine, is struggling. And yet, in one week - Blink sold more than the total sales of former chart darlings Sum 41 and Good Charlotte -- combined.

You can call me bias, I don't care -- but I can call you ignorant and at least be grounded in fact.

It's blink-182. They proved that they can release a completely half-assed and uninspired effort and still be atop the charts. Aside from a few tracks, the album is pretty terrible. Give it another listen without leaning on the bias that it's blink.
