Its a huge step down from KTTY :shrug:

anyone who considers this a step down is being silly. i find their other stuff unlistenable and very obnoxious, but this album is very very well written, performed, sung, everything. but i will NEVER be able to handle their older stuff.

this is not the band that I feel in love with, but that being said this album is amazing

I agree with this. I love their older stuff, Keep This to Yourself has been one of my favorite albums since it was released and the Stay Home EP is wicked good. The new stuff is just a lot more mature and I absolutely love it.

There seems to be a pretty big American Football influence in there too with all the guitar work. It's a great album. A lot more pop than before. I'm torn cause I love the old stuff, but this new stuff is just as great.... just in a totally different manner.

Keep This to Yourself sucked and this is really good, I couldn't be happier.

haha probably not totally fair either. i guess i think there should be room for older fans to appreciate this as well. to say it is a step down musically is a bit ridiculous, the amount of talent on display on this album is so much more evident than on older stuff. in my opinion anyways.

Alrighty, so an opinion that matters (or doesn't matter):

Album is very good. Well, to me at least. They stepped up the songwriting and musicianship a shit ton. The songs, musically, just sound perfect to me. Couldn't be happier about that. Now, I can see why Ian (xhandgunxheart) would think their lyrics a step down. The songs have a more open feel to them, where KTTY was fast paced. The lyrics on L&F have more room to say what needs to be said, and sometimes, the lyrics deliver. Some are mehhh, while others are rather good. With KTTY, the faster paced music, it's easier to say shorter, harder hitting things. Yet, even L&F's most mehhh lyrics are 100x better than some of the other pop punk releases of this year's lyrics.

Plus, the Patrick Stump cameo rules. It's the closest we may ever get to a Take This To Your Grave sounds from P. Stump for a very long time.

Now, addressing himynameisjim... Bro, come on. You don't like Transit, or Man Overboard. You think they're boring and shitty. That's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. Yet, to maybe make your point clearer by expanding on your ideas and reasoning. Also, I noticed you called this site "shitty". Hey, you don't have to be here. Strikegently got way too shitty (lol) for me to keep going to, so I stopped going. You don't have to keep coming here. You don't like the site, and what it covers, why keep coming back if it's just going to make you mad? Simple solutions, my brotha.

I can't believe how good this album is. I expected it to be good, but they completely surpassed any and every expectation I had for this album.

I mean you have a point, but Joe was coming from a different angle lyrically in this one. Those famous 1 liners that made the lyrics in KTTY are still here and (almost) more than ever in L&F, you just have to open up your ears and listen!

... let's not get too hasty. KTTY was a great freaking album, this is just better!
