Games Round-Up (10/02/11)

This week's Games Round-Up can be seen in the replies.

Thanks to Viva Sonata for putting this together:

Games Round-UpHey, everyone! Another week, another roundup of all the video games a hipster could ask for.

THIS WEEK IN GAMING

- Mojang, the developer of Minecraft led by Notch, is going to court as Bethesda has sued over the Swedish developer's new game, Scrolls, claiming the title is too similar to their critically acclaimed series, Elder Scrolls. smh.

- Dead Space 3 has finally been announced, and the first details have been leaked. Warning: Some plot elements are spoiled!

- Remedy, the development team behind Max Payne, has dropped a few help wanted ads that tease at the possibility of a sequel to their hit Alan Wake.

- Free. Portal 2 DLC. FREE. This week. GET IT.

- Skyrim news ahoy! This week, the voice cast that somehow, by some weird stroke of luck, includes more than five people, as well as perks and racial abilities for your viewing pleasure.

- So, that trailer for Dead Island was apparently so good, the movie studio Lionsgate is doing a movie based solely on it.

- Crysis has been for XBLA and PSN on October 2nd and will be twenty bucks.

- A videographer who was trying to re-enter the country from Canada has been detained by Homeland Security and all his footage of multiple fighting tournaments seized.

- LA Noire: Complete was greenlit by Rockstar, but only for the PC. The Complete version, along with refined visuals, will bundle all the DLC packs together.

- League of Legends' new game mode, 'Dominion', has been released.

As per usual with video game adaptations, my expectations are low.

Can't wait for Portal DLC.

Mojang getting sued is ridiculous

It doesn't seem like it's actually based on the game though. Just the trailer.

Agreed. Though, in theory, I believe it could make for a pretty decent movie...

Is original Crysis worth shelling out $20 for?

SomedayTheFire 10/02/11 05:07 PM

Hopefully Alan Wake 2 will be better than that massive let down of an original.

Coming up on Tuesday: Dark Souls, Rage, NBA 2k12, and the game in which I do the nervous dance in the gamestop trying to choose which one.

Hopefully getting Rage and NBA2k12 from gamefly, will probably get both. They look so good.
