Shouldn't use the word "penultimate" twice in the same review. A word like that should only be used once in something this short. I also completely disagree about Major Minus not doing anything sonically - I think that is its greatest strength. Otherwise, spot on review.

I honestly don't get Coldplay. Never have. They've got some nice tunes, but they're like U2--it's totally baffling to me how they are one of the biggest bands in the world.

Actually, the 2.7 million implication is towards how many views the music video "Paradise" got

fair point, my mistake. i think the logic still holds though. view counts in the millions means there must be a pretty big fanbase. or one really big fan...

Excellent review as everyone else has stated.

I haven't really listened to this more than once, but I do like it a lot from my initial listen. It's nowhere near Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends though. That album I absolutely fell in love with.

You're right. The view counts are saying something about the fan base

what about "up in flames?" i'm a little bit shocked you liked it. it's gratingly repetitive. personally, i found it to be the worst song coldplay has ever written.

Good Review

But I wholeheartedly disagree with the major minus comment. It is my favorite song on the album!

I loved this album so much and have owned it since it came out. I finally got to see them live touring for it and have so much respect for this band now. It is easy to hate a band because they are famous but as many pop punk and rock concerts I have seen I must say Coldplay put on the best one yet. They really know how to use an entire Arena to its full.

It was not the direction which I thought would be heading to. It was quite a shock and I did not like it. :(
