I will be checking this out tomorrow. One of my favorite vocalists.

Derek performed one of the Alcoa songs (and a Defeater song) for my Stripped Down Session series last week. I really love his solo stuff (and Defeater, too, of course).

Reminds me so much of Bright Eyes, which is a really good thing.

Listening to the demos now, I'm really enjoying this. I also love the four acoustic tracks on Empty Days & Sleepless Nights.

He named it after the Country or town or greater area in Kentucky? that the aluminum company is named after.
I picked up this demo at their show last night in Orlando with Bane.
It's all so good.

The aluminum company is not named after a town. Towns are named after Alcoa. Alcoa is the Aluminum Company of America.

Any towns named Alcoa (like Alcoa, TN) are pretty much named that because they either have a large Alcoa smelting or rolling mill facility in the area that provides a ton of jobs etc.

The acoustic songs sounds sweet.
