Brendan Kelly Announces New Project
 

Brendan Kelly from The Lawrence Arms has a new project called Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds. A three song digital EP, A Man With The Passion of Tennessee Williams, will be released on December 27. A full-length will be released in February though Red Scare.

This sounds really cool.

I am kind of confused by the sound. I get he has help from people of non-punk backgrounds and that the music gets weird at times. Does this mean it is not going to have an overall punk sound? Maybe I need to reread that portion...

Awesome. From the band name, I'm expecting a Gaslight Anthem sound.

i'm somewhat skeptical about this strictly based off how bad some acoustic stuff he's done since the last TLA records came out, but will definitely buy the record and give it a shot. i'd still prefer a new TLA record though..

Given that it's Brendan Kelly, I don't see it being really all that "not punk" or whatever. We'll just have to wait and see. I suspect it'll be a little bit more straight-up rock music with a tinge of country in it than the Lawrence Arms or the Falcon, though.

the title suggests a concept about Tommy Wiseau. Will listen.

that The Room reference makes me double stoked for this.

Brendan is amazingly talented and I love everything he's done. The blog is incredible as well. Like everyone else, I'd prefer a new Lawrence Arms record, but this will be awesome regardless. This newspost deserves way more than 10 replies.
