Chcurry182 12/13/11 11:46 PM

I actually like some Ke$ha songs, but i can't get into bob dylan's music. it's not for me.

and i really don't care what you have to say about my music tastes.

the people who actually listened to this before going nuts will hear that this isn't a horrible cover, nor is it in her usual style (thankfully)

Lol, what? Holy hyperbole, Batman. I'm arguing one very specific instance that bothered me, as well as a few others - in a music community. If I had ever argued so much as one other thing with you in the past, maybe that comment would make some sense. You used your site to reinforce the fact that you dont like Ke$ha over reminding readers that there's a good collection of songs on sale to benefit a great organization. Even if Alex already made a post about it. Agree to disagree on all this, I suppose.

stop ruining the playful humor of the thread... we get it. you got butt hurt.

I think we should all care about this instead

This is Weezy's best verse of the year

White 12/14/11 09:57 AM

Mkay, so, to recap:

Halfway decent cover performed by someone everyone hates = pure, unadulterated garbage

While...

Thread featuring handfuls upon handfuls upon handfuls of all the exact same gifs and images that occupy most message boards in the universe = thread of the year

Gotcha.

Dan CiTi 12/14/11 10:45 AM

Bob Dylan covers, like most singer/songwriter song covers are rarely good, let alone interesting. But Ke$ha is fine here.

Rob McWilliams 12/14/11 10:45 AM

This thread was golden

I find it strange that people get upset about things like this...

seimagery 12/17/11 09:05 AM

I'll bet you if this was labeled any other remotely respectable artist you'd react differently. It was alright. Just alright.

Corey Hoffy 12/17/11 09:33 AM

Is it just me or does she sound like she's shitfaced? I could barely make out a single lyric. Fuck this.

Oh, and...

benlong 12/17/11 10:27 AM

not a huge fan of this...mostly because i like bob dylan singing to real instruments, instead of a pop singer singing over a pad...decent sound quality and well produced i guess...just not a fan

You don't remember hating on things because it was cool when you were a kid? I doubt anyone on here is actually upset about this song, maybe about their lives, but probably not this song.

I do enjoy a good gif thread though.

I came here to see all the hilarious Gifs

Mr.Piano93 12/17/11 02:54 PM

Some of you people are being ridiculous. This cover was not THAT bad. I'm sure it might've received good feedback if people didn't know that it was Ke$ha singing. I understand most of this thread is a joke and there's some good GIF's, but at least listen to the fucking song before you say it's the worst thing to happen to music.

Good for her for trying to branch out and show that she's not one dimensional

100% This.

I actually give her props, there's a lot of emotion in the way she delivered this, and clearly part of the wonky, awkwardness is a nod to Dylan's style.

Thank you. Someone has logical thinking power.

Also,

VIVALAMATT 12/17/11 07:30 PM

Her voice sounds better than Dylan's these days.

11:11 12/17/11 09:36 PM

Didn't expect this to be a trainwreck, but I knew she could sing without autotune before. Wasn't bad, wasn't anything special.

i feel like that's how all modern pop stars are now. they know what it takes to make a quick buck, and they know it sucks.

Not a fan of her at all, but the song isn't bad. Try listening with your elitest blinders off.

its elitist to say that you don't like, say, justin timberlake. its perfectly fucking human to not like kesha.

sorry, i meant ke$ha.

bro you are on point today. I wish I was a user of this site in the early 2000s, I feel like it was less infested with people who get their listening recommendations straight from ryan seacrest and rolling stone magazine

The first line of this response couldn't have been less necessary. I dont care that Kesha's values or message are not on par with Dylan's, the damn proceeds benefit Amnesty International, an important tidbit of information which somehow got entirely shunned in place of the breaking news of "Hey guys, Kesha sucks!". If she's raising money for an important cause, then she can cover Bob Dylan all day.

A challenger appears!
