Cassadee Pope Talks About Hey Monday And Solo Work

A new interview with Cassadee Pope (Hey Monday) about the band and her solo career can be read here.
In This InterviewI've had people in the past hint that I should go solo and have my own thing, but I've always just laughed at it. It really was me just waking up one day having a yearning for it.

I worry for the youth when they can't spell their own names. Try a "y" dear. Try a "y".

Basically, like an edgy Jordan Sparks kind of thing; all real instrumentation, production similar to Bruno Mars, but definitely more mainstream than Hey Monday. I want the lyrics to be more edgy and darker than anything on the radio. Just doing what I love, the real instruments and guitars but with a real pop twist to it.

hmmmmmmm.....

Manufactured Dreams 01/12/12 07:12 PM

Lol girl please. I'm sure she was going solo from the gate.

ari telescope 01/12/12 07:19 PM

Come on Cassadee, was Hey Monday ever really a band?

anamericangod 01/12/12 07:20 PM

"Definitely more mainstream than Hey Monday."

"I want the lyrics to be more edgy and darker than anything on the radio."

Does not compute.

Also, kind of sad she has to clarify "real instruments."

browneyedbutz 01/12/12 07:27 PM

Sounds like she's making a push for fame & money or nothing at all.

ZEZEtheX 01/12/12 07:31 PM

If a Cassadee Pope goes solo, and no one listens, does it make a sound?

mr_raccoon 01/12/12 07:31 PM

To be honest, I felt that her voice was not suited for rock since I first heard it. For instance...

...that actually sounded pretty decent. She's probably better off with a solo pop career anyways

heyjoshua 01/12/12 07:37 PM

Only time will tell... I'm going to her show on Feb. 21st do hopefully I get a good taste of how her solo music will sound.

kismet 01/12/12 07:42 PM

Lol just lol.

Buscemi Knows Best 01/12/12 07:49 PM

the more she talks, the more I dislike her.

snowboarderkid 01/12/12 07:49 PM

I think she will do great with whatever she does.

cshadows2887 01/12/12 07:51 PM

It all depends on if they write her good songs or not. She has a voice I really dig, when used on the 5 good songs Hey Monday ever had.

this. If ATL stays around, they will probably keep bringing her on tours tho. Feel bad for the other guys that were in Hey Monday.

Raarzipan 01/12/12 07:56 PM

Lol@this being posted right after the propertyofzack interview with the ex drummer.

Sherry116 01/12/12 07:57 PM

Of course she's gonna go after the cash.

I don't see why anyone is shocked or up in arms about this. She's not doing anything differently than people like Katy Perry/Britney Spears/Kelly Clarkson/etc. have done. She just happens to have a history in the pop-punk scene.
I'm not interested in any of her past, present, or future music but she seems like a nice girl. She definitely doesn't deserve all this crap, especially when most of the people on here worship pop acts that she has stated she wants to be like.

justinwho 01/12/12 08:21 PM

i totally can't wait to not listen to this.

deezee 01/12/12 08:33 PM

Really, like anyone gives a damn. In my eyes she was always a solo act.

fuckyourscenes 01/12/12 08:34 PM

I thought Hey Monday already was mainstream, but whatever.

MyFriendsOver 01/12/12 08:41 PM

Oh well.

Ohaidere 01/12/12 09:22 PM

Don't really care all too much. I just find her relatively nice to look at.

I'll give her credit for being completely upfront about everything and not trying to hide her intentions for what she's going for. She's definitly shooting for the stars but really seems down to earth in the sense of being real with her fans.

kbomb001 01/13/12 12:40 AM

She's pretty, some major label who needs another disposable female pop artist will pick her up and mold the living highlights out of her hair...did i mention she's pretty?

No one is shocked or up in arms.
In fact, there is not a single person on earth shocked by this news.

luqmanhakim 01/13/12 01:24 AM

Sounding a bit too ambitious.

This girl is totally delusional.

Slovo 01/13/12 07:23 AM

I think if they kept with their full length sound instead of what they did with their EP, they could have found more success. I feel like that EP fell pretty flat when it came out.
