Not liking this at all though people getting pissed because he didn't swear is just stupid. Here's hoping the album as a whole will be awesome still.

Would bannage have occured if it was anyone else other than you?

Decent song, pretty great melody, but definitely a grower and less of something I could automatically latch onto.

I feel like if Admit It!!! had never been written then everyone would like this song. But Admit It!!! was so good that it makes this song look bad. Personally, I love both songs though.

Gumbyjag 01/13/12 01:01 AM

Neither of the new songs are doing it for me.

theyearfifteen 01/13/12 01:15 AM

i thought coby's part in "burn a miracle" would've been much better as a gang vocal part and i feel the same way about his part in this song. also, i do agree with the censorship issues. i have no problem with not cursing but it does sound kind of awkward when he has been known to curse a lot in the past and is now purposefully avoiding it.

with that said, i did enjoy the song on first listen.

adamoflazzarath 01/13/12 01:29 AM

not resonating with me...not personal enough...he attacks too directly....rihanna will be irrelevant in the future and so will this song, so why give her the time of day...or anyone this song shoots down for that matter..give ur listeners some credit max and let us FIGURE OUT what u want to say instead of saying it so openly! everyone cried for IARB 2 and he gave it to us...unfortunately you cant relive the past with the same feeling as before so just move forward and give us something we would have never thought you'd do...thats what spawned new music as all about to me at least

BigAl 01/13/12 02:07 AM

I'm really enjoying this track!

I'm listening to Admit It!!! and Admit It Again back to back now, haha.

gsmartin 01/13/12 03:27 AM

This song will take a little while to grow on me.

I still adore "Burn A Miracle".

GetUpAndrew 01/13/12 04:12 AM

I want this album. Now. I just can't wait. God I'm so stoked.

axel182 01/13/12 04:13 AM

This is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G... and i've only listened to like 1 minute! I love all their albums for different reasons each... IARB was an awesome album like every album they made. If i were you i would just enjoy the awesome music and stop comparing... who would want the same album over and over again? this is not bowling for soup it's fucking SAY ANYTHING!

I mean, as much as I liked Max's lyrics before (my freakin' site is named after this song's apparent predecessor) they weren't exactly the apex of maturity. From the "lecherous douche" to the "crap rains down" to his apparently refusal to say "son of a bitch" (the song's most painfully "are you kidding me?" facepalm moment), everything about "Admit It Again" just rubs me the wrong way. I don't think he's ever been this immature, and he seems to think it's funny, while I just find it groan-inducing. Ugh.

I really want him to prove me wrong with the rest of the record, but this is worse than the worst songs he's written - Baseball's songs are more mature. I genuinely haven't hated a song he's written up until this point. Hopefully this is the only misstep.

I agree with this. Not a fan.

You don't top it. And that's the inherent problem with your first major album being that good, unfortunately, as the rest of the career is spent not trying to make great music, but trying to top that pinnacle album.

See: Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Finch, Mae

Sucks for them because they all released great music since, but most of the fans latch on to the first album they got hooked on and don't let the band forget it.

The Everglow and (m)orning are both way better than DB.

Edit: just read your other post, nvm. Lol.

Whoah. I feel like I just spotted a unicorn. I'm not sure I've ever met anyone with a favorite Mae album that isn't The Everglow. Haha.

I like (m)orning more if that counts..

Michael1002 01/13/12 04:49 AM

Liked it, now I will wait till the album drops

JinxRemoving 01/13/12 04:57 AM

I still love this band, but this song is just terrible. I did like "Burn a Miracle" though, and still have high hopes for the rest of the album. I'll just skip this track.
