RIP Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

As being an African American, MLK made it easier for me growing up and being accepted. I thank him for using civil disobedience and just his words to get his points across to the masses. Plus making it more acceptable for me to walk hand in hand with my boyfriend who is of another race.
He paved the way for tolerance.
Thanks Martin.

This quote goes a long way in explaining why I can't vote for any politician Democrat or Republican that is against gay marriage. Our Grandchildren will be disgusted with us that we would choose the lesser of two evils in that case, just like we're appallled at Grandparents now that would've voted from people like Strom Thurmond.

If you haven't seen the episode of The Boondocks where MLK JR is still alive and sees how the African-American culture is today, you totally should.

i am reminded of the year my dining hall served fried chicken, collard greens, and watermelon on this day. not the greatest moment for my university.

Because every "political" post uses the same tag icon. And it's been the current US president for at least 13 years now.

You've been posting news for 13 years here?

We shouldn't disrespect MLK with a Obama avatar.

I started a version of APnet when I was around 15. I'm 28 now. And we definitely had ~8 years of Bush being the icon, and at least ~4 of Obama.
