First Cassadee Pope Solo Song

Cassadee Pope's first song as a solo artist is ... a cover of "Torn" - listen to it here.

haha.... I mean, I LOVED this song when it was out, but is this really the smartest move for her?

Love this song and I actually really like her voice (usually)... but this isn't doing it for me on first listen.

It's just a bit boring. It's lacking...

Pretty dumb to start off your solo career with a cover song.

tonethehero 01/23/12 08:29 AM

Is that by Natalie imbruglia or whatever...? That woman is set for life from that one song.

justinwho 01/23/12 08:30 AM

i don't wanna...listen.

God I love this song. This comes nothing close to the original, but I think its a decent ballad cover of the song. Also I think Cassadee has an amazing voice, but not a suitable tone for popular music. her voice is definitely more appropriate for pop rock

deezee 01/23/12 08:50 AM

She was always solo. Seriously, are any of the original members even left? I don't get why these female fronted bands (Paramore, Versa, Etc.) go through male members so quickly. Maybe there's some dating going on, and once they break up the dudes get kicked from the band :-d

Well, she sounds good...but is she bringing a keyboard player on tour?

Also, there's something about her solo promo pic that makes me laugh.

dmcaloon 01/23/12 08:53 AM

Not bad. I have a feeling it's gonna be the best solo song she releases though. I was never too impressed with the songwriting she did with Hey Monday

And she is (was?) married to Daniel Johns.
