So good.

RyanGarner 02/14/12 12:31 PM

These dudes used to be my favorite band, the nostalgia they give me is unreal. This song sounds really good. Any idea when the new album comes out?

wall e 02/14/12 12:33 PM

This album is going to slay.

circletheworld 02/14/12 12:35 PM

that was cool, sounded like older coheed

Yontsey 02/14/12 12:37 PM

Love it. Wouldn't be opposed to him also doing some more Prize Fighter stuff.

MikeYabs 02/14/12 12:40 PM

Awesome. Really excited for their new one

PHI Flyers10 02/14/12 12:43 PM

You spelled the Lord's name incorrectly in that title.

RobisLegend 02/14/12 12:48 PM

lyrics could fit in with the current mythos - potentially a post-Universe collapse Claudio (the repetition on 'I'm alive', talk about homecoming) or or outside the story a la The Writer. Maybe actually this is from the perspective of Inferno? all seem plausible, i think.

i used to love this band, I've seen them every year since 2009. Havent listened to anything as of late, hoping a summer tour with an album comes out this summer.

First news of new Circa, then this? Tis a good day indeed...A good day indeed.

billy_yo 02/14/12 01:11 PM

I like this. Hope the new album sounds like older coheed and not anything like their last two albums

thesinkingship 02/14/12 01:12 PM

I was rather impressed with this one. It had a structure similar to something from the first three records which is a good thing. I liked NWFT and YotBR but they never made me feel the way the first three records did.

panicbxmb 02/14/12 01:17 PM

This reminded me of why I fell in love with these guys in the first place. Solid song!

ChrisKamradaTFT 02/14/12 01:21 PM

Sounds like the edgy/dark Coheed that I love. Can't wait for the new release with Josh back in the line-up. He's one of the most humble dudes I've met. Spent a lot of time around him this past summer on Warped. Stoked for him.

I just caught this, haha

SteveD 02/14/12 01:39 PM

This makes up for all of YOTBR with the exception of Pearl Of The Stars.

This.

mackieinva 02/14/12 01:48 PM

Album should be out in the summer, no specific date yet though.

Rysker6 02/14/12 01:53 PM

Can't wait for their new record, and as I've said before, I really hope that guy from ASL got the bass chair position. Heard he auditioned.

Portugal4142 02/14/12 01:57 PM

I usually hate these pre-recorded-acoustic shells of what the song may actually sound like when its recorded. But that sounded fantastic. Color me excited after almost entirely giving up on this band..

Deftinwolf 02/14/12 02:00 PM

From what I understand this album is supposed to be between Year of the Black Rainbow and Second Stage.

This song has a lot of changing. For instance the lines "one day i grew too old and my cares were now theirs to mold" kinda shows that this exact scene is in the future. It's someone looking back and realizing that they are out of the loop.

I think it could be Coheed. He's realizing he's not up to his fighting anymore. At least that was until he looked at himself and remembered why he fights in the first place. I could see the line "I'm alive" meaning more of a look that he's ready to fight. The talk about "The Hangman" could be many things. It could be a literal person, OR a metaphor for him giving up.

AndyMania 02/14/12 02:29 PM

son of a bitch, i love this band

This. Exactly this.

TriangularDuck 02/14/12 02:36 PM

Holy fucking shit how GODDAMN GOOD is this?!

Total bridge between the SSTB and NWFT song, with Claudio sounding fucking impossibly good. Like, that's a fucking LIVE take? He sounds better there than 95% of vocalists muster up on record. I'm always down for new Coheed, the last two albums were great, but nowhere near their first three. If this track is anywhere indicative of what the album will sound like, I am beyond stoked.

Feenucks 02/14/12 02:50 PM

...and THIS is why my daughter is named Cambria. SO GOOD!!!

SuNDaYSTaR 02/14/12 03:22 PM

The new album is a prequel to the entire saga. It happens before YOBR. It's the prequel to the prequel.

CoheedForever 02/14/12 04:00 PM

So rad!!!!!!! It sounds incredible! This record is going to rule!!

tbkidd 02/14/12 04:13 PM

I'm incredibly excited for this. I'm already listening to this track over and over!

Pardon my ignorance if this was actually mentioned somewhere for sure (didn't see it in the thread) but is this actually a Coheed song or is it a new Prize Fighter song? I thought he stated the album was entirely written (at least the guitars/vocals, not necessarily the arranging). I know he's got a good portion of PFI stuff together for another album, but I don't think it was finished when Jess and Matt from Cobalt interviewed Claudio.

EchoPark 02/14/12 04:22 PM

creative claudio is creative

Well, he released it on Coheed's youtube page, and Coheed's Facebook page, so i guess it's impied.

camperfrequency 02/14/12 04:38 PM

This is too fucking good! Love Coheed!

Merve 02/14/12 04:44 PM

I'm digging this. Claudio's lower register sounds fantastic. And since they're not working with Barresi and Ross (a.k.a. the Industrial Doom and Gloom Factory) on this, the new album should rock.

Also, LOL at "Cladio."

Thanks for the insight! I didn't think to look which youtube channel he posted it on. I'm really excited to hear this with a full band's arrangement. This really get's me stoked for the new album though.

I thought this album wasn't going to involve the mythos?

nowFace 02/14/12 06:21 PM

The audio quality of this is really good. I felt like he was in the room with me.

YoShitsGoinDown 02/14/12 06:32 PM

Liked this very very much. I can already picture Josh's drumming with this...going to be awesome.

dude I feel you on the nostolgia, SSTB and in Keeping Secrets brings back so many memories its unreal

Jimmy_Love 02/14/12 07:19 PM

Wow.. I'm really digging his vocals. Brings back old memories of the SSTB days.

Garett Press 02/14/12 08:07 PM

Holy SHIT. Wow. For maybe the 5th or 6th time... Coheed is BACK

codeseven 02/14/12 08:13 PM

It's been so long since I've even seen what Claudio looks like. His voice even sounds different to me. Was anyone else a member of the Coheed boards (before Cobalt and Calcium)? We had so much fun tearing apart SSTB to figure out the story. I may not like this band anymore, but nostalgia just punched me in the face hard.

He hasn't really changed much except for his hair in the past 10 years. Got some solid anti-aging genetics.

I was a member back in the day. Those boards were pretty wild, lots of interesting threads, especially after Claudio got wasted then mooned and cursed out the crowd at that show in Canada. I wish I saved some of pages in that thread when he apologized, lots of funny posts in there.

mms13 02/15/12 05:59 AM

I did not like their last album at all

Brissona 02/15/12 07:21 AM

So awesome.
