Most Deserving Best Picture Winning In The Last 10 Years
The title says it all. I saw that Joblo is doing a poll asking what everyone thinks the most deserving winner in the last 7 years is, and I wanted to see what everyone else thinks here.

Really in love with The King's Speech, so I went with that. But this is a tough one. I was hesitant for A Beautiful Mind or The Hurt Locker.

The Hurt Locker for me.

No Country for Old Men.

The Departed. Saw it opening morning with only about 15 people total in the theater and still applauded it when it ended. Still to this day, it's the only film I've seen in theaters 5 times. Love it to death, so happy Marty got his big win (finally). Most deserved by far.

In order, for me:
1) The Departed 2) Million Dollar Baby 3) Lord of the Rings 4) No Country for Old Men 5) Hurt Locker Movies that didn't deserve to win: Slumdog Crash Chicago |
No Country.

My ranking:
1. The Lord of the Rings 2. The Hurt Locker 3. No Country For Old Men The least deserving would be either Crash (trash) or A Beautiful Mind (which isn't really bad, but is entirely disposable and loses points because it beat Fellowship). I also really like Slumdog and The Departed, and The King's Speech to a lesser extent, but I'm quite shocked anyone would go for that film in this poll. Should have been The Social Network. Million Dollar Baby is somewhere in the middle, and I guess Chicago is towards the bottom, though I don't really dislike it at all and think it's really well done, it's just light (I'm guessing people will be saying the same thing about The Artist in five or ten years time. |

Curious to know what you think should have won the year Slumdog won? |
The Departed. I'd say most undeserving would be either Crash or The King's Speech.
|
I love The Departed, but I would rather Scorsese had won for something else...
|
went the departed, lord of the rings would easily be my number 2
