Staff Recommendations: March 11th, 2012

It's a rainy, slow Sunday on my end, but Spring should be rolling in soon. Let's see what everyone's been listening to this week. Do you have any good recommendations for us?

Ryan GardnerIt's been raining all weekend here. I've been listening to The Menzingers non-stop, the new lovely Now, Now record, and Ex Lives. Also currently reading The Hunger Games and The Alchemist and having a Star Wars viewing marathon.

Thomas NassiffThe GK Tour Split, which you can all listen to, along with The Wonder Years / Stay Ahead of the Weather split and Sharks' No Gods.

BlakeI went to the Glamour Kills tour TWICE this weekend. The Wonder Years and The Story So Far were definitely the stand-outs. Such a good vibe with this tour, I totally recommend catching them when they come through your town.

I've been blasting La Dispute all week. Best band to listen to if you need to shed some tears and/or let some hatred out.

Been listening to these two all week. Good stuff, worth the wait for the new Driver Friendly CD.

I've been on a nostalgia kick lately and playing Senses Fail and Silverstein's discography.

The new discs by Bruce Springsteen, Every Time I Die, and The Mezingers are very good.

What other records by The Mezingers should I check out?

The new Bruce record reminds me of Born in the USA and Ex Lives reminds me of a mix of Gutter Phenomenon and Hot Damn.

The Menzingers are awesome. I suggest checking out their second album Chamberlain Waits, that's the album that got me into them. The Lesson in The Abuse of Information Technology is good too though.
