The Wonder Years Perform "Living Room Song"

The Wonder Years played "Living Room Song" in New York City yesterday for what, by my count, was the first time ever. Check out a video of the performance in the replies. It's in pretty solid quality.

It was just a random song they recorded and put out around the time Suburbia came out, I think.

it was a b-side on like the Japanese Suburbia release.
This is my video btw, thanks for posting it Thomas

I've tried really hard to get into these guys, but I haven't been able to. :-/

I almost bought their album like 4 times, but every time I listen to every song from the album that is available on Youtube and I just can't get myself into it. It's weird because I've been listening to pop-punk and similar music since I was a kid.

stonecoldfox 03/11/12 08:13 PM

Well....fuck that was awesome. I wish they would have played that when I saw them the other night.

I would say just buy the album, play it like 5 times in a row, I'm betting you'll get into it.

I like Stalin, the color red, and the Berlin Wall.

If they don't play this at Soma in San Diego, I will be so sad. Whether or not they tell me I shouldn't be sad anymore.

You might be right. I actually have a song from their last album on my iphone for some reason, and after it shuffled to it several times I actually like it.

himynameisjohn3 03/11/12 08:23 PM

perhaps a sign that they should do a Tupac cover?

i was wondering what that was about...its not like i have any rap uploads

tyler2tall147 03/11/12 08:28 PM

Can't believe that many people were singing along to this one. That shows dedication. I feel like if it weren't to the people in TWY thread, that song wouldn't have made it over, or as widely heard as it seems to be.

So excited when this shows hits MN.

Well, it was literally thanks to the thread that the song got out. After someone got the disk and uploaded it Alt Press posted a link to the video and so did AP.

I think Vito was the one that started the whole hunt.

janinedeleon 03/11/12 08:40 PM

was stoked when i heard them play this. wasn't expecting it at all.

DevinDomino 03/11/12 08:41 PM

Totally called this shit in an earlier thread.

Ya. Just shows that those fans will dig into the internet to find a b-side that rare. I'm sure not all of those kids singing along were TWY thread regulars/lurkers.

well, the b side is now pretty well known, seeing as it was Alt Press' b-side of the year.

Pretty cool that the band managed to make this b side a bit hidden, because it's usually so easy to find shit like this with the internet.

The military writes it that way.

Can't wait to see them in Nashville...and especially The Story So Far!

Ryan Dennehy 03/11/12 09:38 PM

Was so fucking cool seeing this live.

ParkAvenue 03/11/12 09:40 PM

Rad! I hope they play this in Chicago.

Ryan Gardner 03/11/12 09:49 PM

Everything about this tour just keeps getting better

No one reads/hears about a lot of AltPress related things. Don't worry, I can do it myself:

Avalanche1 03/11/12 10:58 PM

Sweet, more reasons to make me hate myself for not being able to go to this tour.

glitchcannon 03/12/12 12:50 AM

hot damn thats awesome

cut!print 03/12/12 03:08 AM

AMAZING. I hope they play it in Seattle!

DanTGD 03/12/12 04:42 AM

Is it just me, or does Soupy look like the lead guy from The Walking Dead now?

I can't get into TWY either so you're not alone. Actually, I can't get into this new wave of pop punk and post-hardcore bands. I recently got into The Story So Far from the matinee show on Saturday. The only other band I really enjoy is Balance and Composure. I don't know. I guess I'm still stuck listening to older bands.

Is this the song that mentions new found glory?

Phil507 03/12/12 07:32 AM

For the life of me, I cannot understand why people go nuts about this band. It's absolutely hook-less in terms of melody. The whiny vocals about "not belonging" don't really strike a chord and have been to death. The music isn't energetic enough to get by on attitude and isn't catchy/hooky enough to be a guilty pleasure. Just beyond me.

However, they seem like a nice group of people so, happy for them and their success.
