The Dear Hunter Working On New Album in July

The Dear Hunter are planning on starting a new album in July.
From the InterviewI’m just going to be going back in July to start doing a new record, probably. That’s kind of tentative in my head. I’d like to get back in the studio in July and do a new album. [...] Right now, it tells me that I want to just be making a record: a non-act, non-plot-driven record, just songs. And, I’ve never really done that. Even though The Color Spectrum is kind of like that, it's so expansive. I would just like to make a record, you know? Without any preconceived plot or concept. So that’s what my heart tells me to do, but I really don’t know for sure.

Yes.

I'm glad that he is going that route instead of act iv at the moment. I became a fan of TDH in between Act III and The Color Spectrum, and it was really hard to get into them because I felt that I must hear all 3 acts in a row, and it was a lot to digest. I think stepping away from the acts for an album may make them more accessible for those unknown to the band.

Nice! I'd be very interested in a "a non-act, non-plot-driven record, just songs" record

It will be great.

I'm happy just as long as the last three acts are completed sometime before I'm 40.

Still waiting on that project or EP with Mr. Green!

Even though I'd love to hear more in the vein of of the acts, I feel like its going to be put off for a while. That's totally fine with me though, because any new Casey music is good news.

The Color Spectrum proved that this man can really do no wrong. If he was able to pull that off, a regular old album will be easy peezy.

can't wait to hear the K Sera album he's producing right now.

Yes. I think a less concept-driven record from them would be phenomenal.

I mean, I'd LOVE Act IV, but new Dear Hunter is new Dear Hunter and I've loved everything he's done so far.

I think Act II was the last thing I enjoyed from TDH. I hope this is good, but I just have my doubts.
