The All-American Rejects Release New Album

The All-American Rejects' new album Kids in the Street is now on iTunes and Amazon. It's streaming on Rdio as well.

Didn't like it much at all.

gusta0117 03/26/12 09:32 AM

I liked it much.

t00latef0rr0ses 03/26/12 09:33 AM

Wasn't really feeling this. Will give it another go later.

Searos 03/26/12 09:34 AM

Loved it. Easily on par with Move Along. Very unique and different stuff from AAR but also some of their best work by far.

Jason Tate 03/26/12 09:34 AM

Their best album.

Agreed.

Bleed Into My Mind is so different from them but I can't get it out of my head for even a second.

Manufactured Dreams 03/26/12 09:49 AM

I loved it.

You could say it's bled into your mind.

foleyfrosh14 03/26/12 09:51 AM

The songs are so diverse, but they all have that AAR feel to it. In love with this album.

Aphasia17 03/26/12 09:58 AM

I'm finding this one to be a grower album. It's definitely miles better than the last album.

I could say that. I did not but it is a true statement. That synth line is weird to hear from AAR and I don't normally like more synth in a rock band's music but this is layered just perfectly. It creates moods so well and still showcases the best traits that AAR has. It reminds me of how synth was layered into the new Coldplay album. I just love the diversity and production of this album. I say its on par with Move Along as that was my favorite but it might even beat that out with time to come. Either way I am so glad AAR are back and this album is fantastic. Expectations exceeded.

Also demos are interesting because some songs are more rock and some are more synth or pop.

To me this album is the perfect example of a band trying to go a slightly different route, wanting to have a big sound but not lose themselves. AAR did this perfectly. Honestly I was blown away listening to it the first time. Congrats guys you did what so many bands try to do but yet they fail miserably.

Jury is still out for me but, one thing that I initially thought while listening, there doesn't seem to be a surefire hit single on here. Or maybe that's just me?

I think "Kids on the Street" could do well. Not sure though, the radio is not my specialty these days.

phillipjacob 03/26/12 10:54 AM

This is far exceeding all expectations

littleredhouse 03/26/12 11:00 AM

i hear raw energy in some of the songs on this album. out the door is a pretty good song

fakeyellowlight 03/26/12 11:04 AM

Wow, this is really good; I'm pleasantly surprised...

BUT disappointed that "Drown Next to Me" doesn't just close out the album. Fantastic closer- instead it's just a bonus track.

BruceWayne 03/26/12 11:11 AM

Too many slow songs on the album for my liking, was hoping for tunes with more energy and bigger hooks...

deezee 03/26/12 11:11 AM

Bleed Into Your Mind is one of the best songs they've ever written. and I agree with Jason, this is their best album. I love the direction they went in.

Yeah, I don't think this album will have a huge radio smash la "Gives You Hell". In my opinion "Heartbeat Slowing Down" and "Affection" have the best chance.

same, I was hoping for a couple "the last song" and "happy ending" type songs, but this album will do fine after they vomitted and called it "when the world comes down". this my favorite album this year so far

heartbeat slowing down is the best track on the album

DampPants4 03/26/12 11:35 AM

eh, its ok

Acad08 03/26/12 11:37 AM

I love it. Best one since the S/T in my opinion!

BCS62290 03/26/12 11:44 AM

What a great album. So "youthful" sounding and the use of electronic drums reminds me of their first album. Lyrically I really like the album too. Great album to reminisce to

drudo182 03/26/12 12:03 PM

Been listening to this quite a bit over the past few days. I love it.

"I For You" has leaped so high up on my favorite AAR songs.

I wish Affection closed personally.

OldSchoolReason 03/26/12 12:50 PM

Spent the weekend with it - takes some time to get into, but there are hooks hidden throughout. Very happy with this release.

Searos 03/26/12 12:51 PM

Kids In The Street > Move Along > Self-Title > When The World Comes Down

All are really good albums but this is how I see the band atm. I think Kids In The Street is amazing.

Very much agreed. And I'm only 5 tracks in.

hello299 03/26/12 03:37 PM

Who is the girl in Fast & Slow?

ghelms88 03/26/12 04:11 PM

Absolutely loving this album. Been playing it non-stop in the car.

dash64 03/26/12 04:16 PM

It's not at all what I expected, which makes me love it even more. Move along has so many great songs but this album shows a sort of maturity that impresses me.

Couldn't agree more. They did a great job with this album.

We got this album in at my store last week on Friday the 23rd. I played it instore immediately!
Bought it that day and took the long way home in my car so I could listen to it all and there wasn't one song I didn't like.

guitarguy211 03/27/12 02:56 PM

Yeah! New AAR stuff finally!
