Facebook Timeline Causing Drop in Traffic to Band Pages
According to this article, the mandatory switch in Facebook to the "Timeline" view is causing a huge drop off in traffic on band's pages. You know, if they wanna drop me a few stock options -- I've got some ideas to fix that.

Beef with Timeline

Yeah, the elimination of landing pages is bumming me out right now, which, from what I can tell, is the main reason for this decrease in traffic.

"Oh I'll just put my band stuff on Google+ instead." - No One.

switch to band camp, its better anyways

I would agree that Timeline is not a positive design change for facebook. Personally, I don't like it organizationally, I just don't.

Timeline sucks on regular pages but it sucks more on band pages. Just reading updates and things people post on their wall is way to cluttered and confusing so this doesn't suprise me.

It really does suck more on band pages. It's just annoying to work with.

I've had a couple pages drop 50-60% in traffic. That's hundreds of thousands of people less than what i was averaging before going timeline.

The title is a bit misleading, bands aren't getting less traffic, the apps are (according to the article).
How many times have I gone to a band's profile just to immediately switch to their Wall while the app was still loading. I have mixed feelings about this. Although yeah, Timeline sucks ass. |

Facebook had an integration with Bandcamp that would allow you to click on a tab and open bandcamp within facebook. Now everything opens in a new page and is incredible convoluted. Not a clear interface at all. Nothing is at a glance anymore. You have to browse around for information now, which makes it difficult for new people to gather info on your band fast. Sad times. |
