Woah woah woah. I like adjectives 100%, not 95%.

I think the score/review were spot on. This band is like a tightly woven fabric pieced together perfectly. I'm so thrilled to see what a full length can bring. To me they are almost like a cross between Circa Survive and Emarosa.

Really really promising EP, it's a huge step up from Hearts and Spades... however i wish i could find their unreleased full lenght album.

I swear, that full-length is of legend. Even I don't know what it is exactly. Definitely will pester them about it next month.

"Not Available" how frustrating is that haha

This is the best EP I've ever heard, seriously live very minute. Sometime you hear The Matches, sometimes you hear Gatsbys, occasionally its TREOS, and sometimes you hear Say Anything yet it's still entirely it's own.

It really is perfect, Dancing On A Tightrope and Escalators are amazing.

Glad to meet another believer.

Been looking for a new band to get addicted to! This will be perfect! Love the Receiving end of sirens style music! And excellent voice going on too. Thanks Jack for this review!

I need that first full-length by them really bad.
Please someone find it!

I listened to them for the first time and my goodness they're fucking great. This EP rocks.

respect to you

I sincerely appreciate your passion and conviction, but your scoring is inconsistent. Upon comparing reviews, I was surprised to find this release rated 4% higher than The Colour and the Shape. I'm not the biggest FF fan, but the expert execution and wide-reaching influence of TCatS is objectively undeniable. You have a great ear for talent, but please try to be more prudent in assigning scores.

I wholeheartedly agree that the future of the genre will benefit from a heavier emphasis on prog/math influences. I lost interest in pop-punk because too many bands were taking the easy road. Keep on fighting the good fight.

This is a totally fair comment, and one I expected.

I've had many debates on several aspects of scoring, with the most frequent being when you should decide your score, or if a score should ever be changed. My love for albums changes over the years, with some rising, and some falling. TC&TS is a great example - it's an all-time favorite of mine, and will forever be in the 90% range. I can't say the same for everything else.

My score and passion for I The Mighty is based off several factors, a few of which I explained in an earlier comment. I've been looking for a band with this sound for some time now to fill voids left by other disbanded bands. This is a fantastic EP, and its score greatly benefited from my personal tastes and my yearning for something in this category. It also can be attributed to my irritation with many current releases - I'm bored to tears by a great deal of "popular" bands, especially in pop-punk.

I also still utilize the AP.net scoring breakdown, which contributed to the high score. I honestly thought this would be somewhere in the 85-91% range, but by using the breakdown, it ended up higher. I know a lot of reviewers are moving away from this kind of structured breakdown, and I'm still feeling it out a bit.

Thanks for the comment - can't tell you how much it means to see someone take the time to write something well-written like that, and especially to look at my past reviews as well. Hope to see you around the site more often.
