it's about time this was posted as news... but all kidding aside, they seem like really genuine dudes and they deserve the support.

if this record is anything like the songs they've been showcasing live then we're in for a real treat.

My friend's band played a show with these guys. From what they said the singer is a really nice dude, but the rest of the band seems douchey. Which is a bummer.

Related story, anyone remember when The Classic Crime made their Kickstarter for their new album?

Their target was 30k, they got $86,277.

This Kickstarter thing works.

bad form to judge people based on a third party's interactions with them one time.

I'm starting to get behind the whole "Kickstarter is an easy way out" ideal. Who needs $10,000 to make a record?

No joke, when Brennan started singing, I felt all the emotion. It made me tear up a little. He's got such a fantastic voice. I've started using his technique he uses and my voice has since gotten 10x better lol.

just curious, what technique does he use ?

??? And why not? People can donate to a band regardless of reward or not, but there is absolutely no reason to say that it is somehow a negative thing to donate because you get a reward.

I recently donated do a Kickstarter because I'm very excited about the reward AND because I get to help fund their project. I absolutely would not have donated as much as I did without the reward, and there is nothing shady or negative about that at all. The fans get something cool and the artist gets their project funded.

donating to a band and being happy about the reward is one thing. wanting to donate to a band and then seeing the rewards and deciding not to do so based on that is another thing.

Not everyone wants to donate. If someone who wouldn't normally donate (which is not a bad thing) decides they might donate because they think there might be some benefit to them in a "reward" and then can't find a reward worth donating for then no big deal...they weren't planning to donate to begin with.

There is really no negativity in this system at all. It's just people who don't "get it" who somehow find a way to call both the band AND the fan greedy or shady.
