The Wonder Years' Get Stoked On It To See Digital-Only Reissue via No Sleep Records

No Sleep Records will be doing a digital-only reissue of The Wonder Years' first full-length album, Get Stoked On It! The reissue will be remixed and remastered and come out May 15. Check the replies to see the new artwork.

Update: Soupy from the band has commented on the release in the replies.
Soupy's CommentIn our opinion, this record is a trainwreck. Chris paid to get it remastered forever ago and we kept trying to put off its inevitable rerelease. He and I agreed that since its already available digitally, that no real harm can come of swapping out the old mixes with the better sounding ones as long as it never gets pressed in a physical form again. That's the long and short of it. If you like the record, enjoy the new mixes. If you hate the record, I'm on your side. We won't be playing any of these songs live in support of this. We don't even consider it a rerelease. Just a swap out for a better mix.

Been waiting on this since it was talked about after the Upsides was released. Hope it sounds significantly better than the version I have now.

I enjoy TWY, but this album is really bad.

Does digital only include iTunes?
I might pick this up. It's a fun album.

I remember getting a free download of like four of the remastered tracks, and it did indeed sound significantly better.

This is the equivalent of Fall Out Boy's "Evening Out With Your Girlfriend" ... better to pretend it doesn't exist.

Cheers Thomas :p haha

This should be decent, those tracks available a while ago sounded pretty good. Wonder when the 'vinyl' kids will come out...

Will probably not listen. Nothing can make that album not suck.

Appropriate comparision, and completely agree.

Don't listen to this guy. Honorable Mention is one of my favorite Fall Out Boy songs. Also, Get Stoked On It has some great tracks and the remastered songs do sound better so I am getting stoked on this, I just wish there was a physical release.

It's already on Spotify...

Also, the original cover is way better.

I don't understand why people don't like this album. It amazing. Yeah some songs a silly but some are really good. Sucks that I probably wont hear some of my favorite songs live.

oneeightytwo 04/18/12 10:18 AM

I don't think that the album is that bad. 'Keeping It Real' is a good track.

Essentially.
