I think I'd be a little pissed too if some news site that many people visit posted gossip about a band on my label that was simply not true and was almost completely uncorrected in the original post. People will not read this whole conversation so it's not like it's "cleared up" by any means. This is a very misleading news post, end of story.

Ya I'm enjoying the debate more than the actual news.
Good points on both sides

I agree that this shouldn't have been posted. There's a whole lot of things I disagree with about this site. But it's not my site, so that doesn't really matter.

How in the world is this misleading? It says "Fans Report In". He posted what a fan reported in and you are stating that it is "simply not true" Are you implying that the fan misheard what was said on stage?

Like a big chunk of my posting history is arguing with Jason Tate, but I am sincerely baffled as to how people are getting all pissy about this. Why aren't you there to come to the rescue every time that something is posted speculating about Johnny Craig?

What was "simply not true"? I don't follow your logic.

Definitely! I'd take a Ben/Brianna song over an Adam song any day. No Mask is a perfect example.

No Mask and Distress Signal are both so fucking good!

I hope the new album is like 1/2 Ben/Briana 1/4 Adam 1/4 Adam/Ben

Yeah, unless it's from Cody Payne....oh wait, he's IN the band, The Dangerous Summer, isn't he? But that is SURELY news-worthy references, right? oh yeah, sometimes band members lie a lot.

All I'm saying is- You can't defend someone publicly making a "joke". If they truly have PR, then their publicist would agree with me that it was an unnecessary statement for him to make publicly, joking or not. And anyone that faces professional/public attention must recognize the affect that their statements can have.

Either way, if you're really that bummed about his comment, stop reading absolute punk. It's silly for you to argue with the founder of a site that is obviously successful aside from your disagreement.

I agree with Jason on this one. Bands can't expect all internet coverage of them to be positive.

get up kidd 04/23/12 12:36 PM

Lol, its beyond me why the owner of a label would start shit with one of the largest music forms on the web. I found out about half of the bands on his label though this site.

Instead of his dick comment he could have cleared the entire thing up by just saying "He was at a wedding, The comment was a joke." That would be the end of it.

AND on top of it, the band gets more press because of the post.

Mochem 04/23/12 12:39 PM

Although the original post still hasn't cleared up that he was at a wedding and the coward remark was said jokingly. Still makes it seem like it was said seriously.

philbylink 04/23/12 12:40 PM

yeah seriously this isn't news, i'm pretty sure that people who were at that show are in a scene that understands what tigers jaw is about / understand that adam mcilwee is a complete giddy weirdo and that nothing out of his mouth should be taken seriously

tigers jaw "fans" are getting really fucking stupid

ThisIsNotDan 04/23/12 12:55 PM

I would be annoyed if I was in a band like this and couldn't joke around on stage with audience and bandmembers without some sort of "news" coming out of it, but I can see why Jason would post something if a bunch of users submitted this in.

Mikey Paine 04/23/12 12:58 PM

Still haven't gotten my goddamn Tigers Jaw beanie from RFC.
