Smokejumper - Seattle WA

Bandcamp: http://smokejumper.bandcamp.com/ (check out Exploding Houses = Dirty Floors and Piece of Me on their self titled)

Saw them at a Broadway Calls/Banner Pilot show. Definition the same vein of pop punk as stuff like Banner Pilot or Junior Battles. Doesn't really bring anything 'new' to the table, but they still play fun music and I like supporting local bands.

Band is up-and-coming from one of the legendary scenes in the Northeast. Toured with bands like the Crucial Dudes, Waffle Stompers, etc. Recommended if you like Dikembe, early blink-182, even a bit of Tom Petty. Check 'em out.

Black Girls

Indie pop from Richmond, Va.

On tape, it sounds like Freddy Mercury was raised by swamp people. On stage, it sounds like Dick Dale at the Apollo.

Energetic songs filled with heart-felt, relatable lyrics and catchy choruses describes The Mid-Summer Classic. The band came together in late 2008 and began playing shows January 2009.

The band entered the studio in August 2009 to record their EP: “Live While You’re Young” with producer Brian Beyt at Little House Productions. “Live While You’re Young” contains songs about things everyone can relate to, such as love, friends, and growing up. The EP released in March of 2010 and is also available for download on iTunes.
After Eric stepping down as the frontman to guitarist, the band found their new vocalist, Robert Dobbs, who moved from Malibu, CA in June of 2010 to be a part of the band. The band had recently entered the studio in April and May of 2011 work on the release of their current album entitled "Good Times & Goodbyes". During this time, the band has been featured in magazines such as Substream Music Press as well as Alternative Press as one of their featured unsigned artists.

I was turned on to Louellen from one of your posts. I vote for them, as well as Joshua Michael Robinson, over myself, haha.
