Smokejumper - Seattle WA
Bandcamp: http://smokejumper.bandcamp.com/ (check out Exploding Houses = Dirty Floors and Piece of Me on their self titled) Saw them at a Broadway Calls/Banner Pilot show. Definition the same vein of pop punk as stuff like Banner Pilot or Junior Battles. Doesn't really bring anything 'new' to the table, but they still play fun music and I like supporting local bands. |
Far Away Boys- New Brunswick, NJ
http://farawayboys.bandcamp.com/ Band is up-and-coming from one of the legendary scenes in the Northeast. Toured with bands like the Crucial Dudes, Waffle Stompers, etc. Recommended if you like Dikembe, early blink-182, even a bit of Tom Petty. Check 'em out. |

Black Girls
http://blackgirls.bandcamp.com/album/hell-dragon Indie pop from Richmond, Va. On tape, it sounds like Freddy Mercury was raised by swamp people. On stage, it sounds like Dick Dale at the Apollo. |

I was turned on to Louellen from one of your posts. I vote for them, as well as Joshua Michael Robinson, over myself, haha. |
