Piano-centric indie band with strong vocals. They have self-released two albums "Alive in Winter" and "Restless Ghosts".

Whoah. I actually like this quite a bit. Good look!

The song you posted was good, but kind of misleading representation of their sound, as I click on more tracks on youtube.

Post-rock band from Ottawa, ON, Canada. Artwork for both the EP and full length were done by Nick Pizzolato from Moving Mountains. RIYL: This Will Destroy You, Moving Mountains, Explosions in the Sky, Caspian

This is rather good. And the sound is terrific.

Alivera is pretty awesome. RIYL: Anberlin, Saosin, Chiodos (just check out the track, you'll hear it)

Paper Mache.

Hail from Spokane, Washington but live in Austin, Texas currently... They have been out for some time, never had a label, and have been one of my favorites for years. I recommend the "Bay Area '09 EP" for a first listen but both albums are great too.

RIYL: Mansions, Lydia, Straylight Run, Into It. Over It, less Poppy Sherwood, etc.

Parisae

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Parisae/130449240323720?sk=app_178091127385

It is a Pop-Rock band from Quebec City. They released their first EP "I'll Just Sail Away" in 2009. They will soon release their second EP, that they have recorded during summer 2011 with producer Paul Leavitt.
Edit: Sorry for the Facebook link, but it's the only place where I could find the songs in studio version. You can find Live versions of songs here if you prefer, but the quality of sound might not be so good: http://www.youtube.com/user/parisaemusic/videos

While Paris Sleeps

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1nMAyb2FFo

It is another band from Quebec City, that is composed of members from different small bands from Quebec, like the singer from Parisae. They play acoustic songs. They actually have only one song released but plan on releasing more in the near future.

"Unconsolable" is really good, but is it their only original song or something? Seems like everything on that soundcloud is covers.

cshadows2887 04/28/12 03:57 PM

Okay so I listened to at least one track from EVERY. SINGLE. BAND that had a bandcamp, soundcloud or youtube link posted (not fucking with facebook, sorry) and the only bands who made me want to listen to more than that one song are:

Swear and Shake
Sidetrack
I Spell It Nature
Brigands
Underwater Tiger
Kid Jerusalem
Blisses B
Party House
Brendan Rivera
Old Abram Brown
Kiertsen Holine
Black Girls
Joshua Michael Robinson
Living Words (cool, but could use more than one song)

Can't decide if that's a good percentage or not out of this massive fucking thread. I must have listened to at least 100 bands. Maybe I'm just old and jaded.

It was decent background music while I wrote a paper for grad school. Where I'm finishing my masters in a week. Suck my dick.

We are a group of guys from Buffalo, NY that recently relocated to Las Vegas. That may seem like a very strange decision while pursuing music in our style (Piano driven pop/rock), yet it's been working out for us incredibly.

We are a piano infused pop/rock band that focuses on vocal harmony
RIYL: Jack's Mannequin, Jimmy Eat World, Lady Danville, Ben Folds, The Fray, The Narrative
