I haven't listened to them yet, but this video was really cool and seemed very authentic and humble. Plus, they look like a blast live.

TheRealJohnOC 04/30/12 10:41 AM

I've never heard of them before. Looks like they have one hell of a fan base!

plns 04/30/12 10:49 AM

That was a pretty cool video. These guys seem very humble and down to earth. But where the hell did this band even come from? The production on their live show is something well established bands don't even have.

ClintMontgomery 04/30/12 10:54 AM

This video is amazing.

This. These guys have seemingly appeared out of nowhere. And they seem to have a big live show. Someone has to have rich parents, but I'm happy for them.

Yeah, rich parents for sure. All the shit they have on stage is probably about $30,000.

I agree, someone had to be backing them -- but they seem cool enough, I'm always happy to see bands from Ohio get attention.

They're self-funded because they're music is INCREDIBLY sellable and they make BANK on their shows (Independently sellout a 2,000 seat venue at $10 a pop? You do the math.)

This band does everything right. So stoked to finally see some of my - very deserving - friends finally doing something huge. Just when we all thought no one could do anything new and there wasn't any money in the industry anymore...

cjprocknroll 04/30/12 11:59 AM

They seem like cool guys, but I don't really see the appeal of the music.

ValleyForge 04/30/12 12:12 PM

The lead singer went to high school with my fiance. It was a small private Christian school...I wonder if the lead singer would consider himself a Christian.

Also, that Christian school was pretty expensive, so his parents probably are rich. Just sayin'

Dirge07 04/30/12 12:23 PM

Never heard of em, but it looks like they have a pretty fun live show and seem genuine about it all. Congrats!

This right here.

himynameisjm 04/30/12 12:58 PM

money cant buy real fans, u guys are silly. props to this band for their hard work!

augustana 04/30/12 01:09 PM

I LOVE this band! They opened up for Jack's Mannequin and Cobra Starship at USF and honestly? They were by FAR the best band I have seen live since BN in 07.

phillipjacob 04/30/12 01:11 PM

super stoked for them. Money might help to buy equipment and stuff in the beginning, but it's talent that got them noticed. and they seem very humble, down to earth, and deserving for everything they're getting.

imdavidjahns 04/30/12 01:37 PM

I kissed the singer on the mouth once, but I feel like I was just another groupie.

ARo2431 04/30/12 01:50 PM

Cool video. Its too bad everything from Ohio sucks. Ill check them out though.

buckcheeks 04/30/12 02:23 PM

Love this band. I actually suggested them in the unsigned bands thread/contest Jason posted a week ago and now they're signed. Haha

yufli 04/30/12 04:07 PM

Really cool video and they seem like alright guys. Not my cup of tea musically, though, but now I know who they are...

There's definite Christian themes that run throughout their music, but regardless of whether or not they come from money they make fantastic music. Their fan base has really spread out by word of mouth. I got told about them by a friend and then proceeded to get about 10 more friends into listening to them. So excited to see what these guys go on to do, hopefully they'll come to the NC/VA area soon so I can see their live show.

Right. Trust me, I was never claiming that their success comes from money. Just the awesome equipment. I'm a little disappointed in myself...since I live near where they started I heard about these guys a LONG time ago but never gave them much of a listen.

I could have been such a hipster if I could say I "knew" them two years ago. Now I'd just be another guy on the bandwagon, ha

fbrrocks 04/30/12 05:27 PM

so happy fbr signed them now they well be added to their street team and i can promote them :)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I started listening to these guys in the last month or two and fell in love with their latest album. I think based on the fact that was before they signed I can stake some claim in knowing about them before other people did, haha.

stuckonsmile 04/30/12 07:41 PM

Not half bad. Kudos to them!

Jim Morgan 04/30/12 08:08 PM

Congrats to them. Achieving your dreams is wonderful, much props.

i_am_for_you 05/01/12 06:50 AM

I'm sort of an aspiring musician and this video made me all teary eyed.

I lol'd. Be honest, it wasn't only once.

sweetjumper3 05/05/12 03:37 PM

Well I'm Tyler's mother and he went to that expensive private school because that is where his dad was teaching Bbile and coaching basketball for 10 years. Every bit of all their equipment has been bought by them with absolutely no help from the Josephs or the Duns. Tyler's dad and Josh's dad have both been layed off from their jobs at some point over the past 2 years. In fact, Tyler even had to pay for his own 2 1/2 years of an education at Ohio State, because we were not able to help him.

If you don't like the music that is fine, but please don't assume that they came from rich families who threw money at them. That's not fair to all the other middle income kids who are trying to make their own way in some pursuit.

You can do it! Find what you love and be the best you can be at it!
