Crummett Producing Issues

Looks like Kris Crummett is producing Issues' debut release.

Jack Appleby 09/03/12 12:51 PM

One of my favorite producers. Not sure what to expect from this project at all.

bobsheiskawy 09/03/12 01:03 PM

i'm expecting woe, is me's number[s] part two.

in no way would that be a bad thing.

musicfan9795 09/03/12 01:10 PM

I'm picturing this being part Number[s], part Define the Great Line-era Underoath, part industrial-R'nB

I don't think anyone in this band programs though - not sure if they'll have that element.

guitarguy211 09/03/12 01:24 PM

For some reason, I feel like this could be similar to early Underoath (TOCS, DTGL), but with a much more poppy element. Just straightforward and accessible screamo.

I'd love that.

This is the band that Tyler, Mike, and Case (their drummer) were in called A Path Less Traveled. Sounded a crap ton like Underoath. Here's proof:

Jake Denning is stopping by the studio today. Ask him how the new tunes sound.

Fun fact: when Tyler and Michael left that band, want to know who replaced both?

Hance Alligood.

Did Ben program? There's a chance I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I know. It's kinda weird looking at it now, seeing as Hance replaced Tyler in W,IM. It would be even weirder if it happens again (which I hope it doesn't).

Well, I guess I just assumed he did since he did synth in W,IM. But I don't know for sure.

I think the programming was primarily done by Austin. Still the key work was cool.

I was 99% sure they were going to choose Cameron Mizell for this but this is a nice surprise. Love Cameron's work but Crummet is a great producer too.

incognitojones 09/03/12 02:22 PM

These guys have a song out or play a show yet? I like Crummett but have no clue as to what this will actually sound like.

Nope. For better or worse theyre cloaking this project as a mystery right now. They do have a tour lined up though.

Not that weird for a Rise band actually. It'll probsb sound exactly like Woe Is Me or just like a little weirder with solid Crummet production. I'd like to hear a song first tho

That really sounds nothing like any of underoath's various eras

Currently in the studio at the moment with Kris and the guys. People are REALLY going to like this. I can't say too much right now, but I am super impressed.

Ashur 09/03/12 03:56 PM

Thank the lawd they're with Crummett. This will sound great, I have high hopes.

Capulet 09/03/12 04:15 PM

going to be awsome

kbomb001 09/03/12 04:29 PM

Crummett is the homie. I lul because he produced all the DGD records.

Beej 347 09/03/12 05:06 PM

Damn, looking forward to hear it.

sosayweall 09/03/12 05:25 PM

I'm probably the only one here hoping this will sound like a better version of Scarlet O'Hara's Lost In Existence, which was produced by Kris Crummett. I know Absolutepunk loves to hate that album but I don't care, I dug it.

PetitnaindesĪles 09/03/12 05:33 PM

a (likely) chugchug band's album which isn't produced by Cameron Mizell ? that's outrageous !

PunkInfluence09 09/03/12 05:33 PM

I really want this to be more akin to Emarosa than anything else.

I have a feeling I'll end up pretty disappointed.

Interesting. I might actually give it a shot.

I actually liked that album too. It has a horrible wrap on this site, but they were nowhere near as bad as people made it put to be. That album was solid through and through 7/10 for me.

johnnyferris 09/03/12 11:53 PM

Wow, I had no idea Tyler and Michael were in a band together before W,IM. I really dug that song.

Ohaidere 09/04/12 05:47 AM

I'm sure this, seeing that Michael Bohn is in the band, will be a screamo band. I was hoping for a more Emarosa-ish kind of band with just Tyler Carter doing vocals with heavy instruments backing him.

Yeah they put out an EP that's pretty good. It's not vey Underoath like IMO but it has a slower and less "core" pace than W,IM.
