First Song Written For Next Say Anything Album

Max Bemis is "pretty sure" he's written the first song for the next Say Anything album.

Portugal4142 09/05/12 11:45 AM

I'm pretty sure whatever it is it can't be worse than anything off the last album..

Jeff_Ryan 09/05/12 11:46 AM

Okay

thesinkingship 09/05/12 11:49 AM

Haven't even heard it and I already know it's better than anything off the recent fun. record

This. I said it before in another thread. SA>>>>>fun.

therookielot 09/05/12 11:58 AM

People compare fun. and Say Anything?

People still compare completely opposite bands to each other?

The internet never changes.

Difference in genre has nothing to do with the quality of the music.

formated4tv 09/05/12 12:03 PM

To go along with the drama between Sherri/Hayley/etc, the song is called "Alive With The Brand New Found Glory Of Love"

They are being compared on this website because everyone loves "Some Nights" yet for some reason "Anarchy, My Dear" was universally panned by everyone.....and this is still an opinion anyways. So as long as the internet exists there will be people comparing things that don't seem similar at all, and having differing opinions than you. Sorry bud.

What's wrong with the fun. album. Too mainstream for you now. And how this has anything to do with Say Anything is beyond me. Dumbass.

PetitnaindesĪles 09/05/12 12:16 PM

wonder if its name will begin with "Admit It ____"

Fans of different genres of music have different definitions of quality.

Lol at people comparing SA and fun.

Thanks pal.

We just need an album full of "Night's Song" quality tracks. Anarchy wasn't a bad album but it was so damn inconsistent and felt like there was a ton of filler.

Tyler Dumont 09/05/12 12:32 PM

Their last album was pretty solid in my opinion... I still love their self titled the most out of everything.

Yes a difference in genre has everything to do with musical quality. Look at "Call Me Maybe". Not that high of quality if it was in a Say Anything or fun. genre. But for a pop song, it's extremely well written.

bobsheiskawy 09/05/12 12:43 PM

so far, this is the worst thread i can think of.

Exactly. "Quality" is a broken term when defining music, anyway. Just like saying this band is "good" or "better" than this band.

People have different tastes in music. The end.

Yes it does. That's like comparing The Dark Knight to the Breakfast Club. Completely different genres of movie. You can say which you enjoy more, but saying which is "better" is a non-argument because they share none of the same qualities in the slightest.

SteveD 09/05/12 12:52 PM

I just want him to perform "An Insult To The Dead" at least once. Just so someone can throw it on youtube and whenever I'm feeling down watch it. Too good of a song to NEVER play!

I can just imagine you two upon seeing this news article pop up:

"Yes! This will be the perfect opportunity to slam Some Nights! Can't believe people liked that!"

"Yeah, this'll show them the error of their ways!"

Also, while we're off topic, I'm going to compare this new album to Sherbert ice cream.

ACA 09/05/12 01:00 PM

Anyone have any reasonable guess as to how many songs Max has written (and released, be it "song store" or otherwise)?

He's supposed to be doing a heavy version of a "wimpy" song this tour according to his twitter. This might be your chance!

Sherbert trumps everything.

Oh definitely. Anarchy, My Dear was different but good. Some Nights on the other hand is the biggest let down I have seen in music in such a long time. Not even comparing genres but praise is thrown in the wrong direction if people think Say Anything were more of a let down this year.

Excited for more Say Anything and honestly hope its a mix of their last album and either something new or something old.

Edit: This is just my opinion. I get some people find new SA to be terrible and new fun. to be great but I doubt I will ever be one of those people. SA did not write a masterpiece with their last record but they also did not write an album so jarring that I did not enjoy listening to it while seeing if it would grow on me.

ZeoVGM 09/05/12 01:53 PM

I'm hoping to see more of a return to In Defense of the Genre style of SA. Not exact, but perhaps a mixture of that and Real Boy.

Fair enough.

Can't wait. Just because the last record wasn't awesome doesn't mean Max has lost his ability to write awesome songs.

Both records are shit. But at least Some Nights had two fucking good songs., unlike Anarchary, My Dear.

burn a miracle may just be thier best song. yea, the album was even more inconsistent than s/t but its different enough in thier catlogue and still had some good songs.

drudo182 09/05/12 02:29 PM

Last album was decent. People dismiss stuff too easily so it's hard to take the bulk of these comments seriously.

some nights they wake up and have to post about Fun. in every news post. How it relates to a Say Anything post is beyond me.

SpyKi 09/05/12 02:50 PM

I just hope it's better than the last record.

and lol at the people dissing fun. as if Some Nights isn't better than everything Say Anything's ever done other than IARB.

littleredhouse 09/05/12 03:08 PM

who cares about a "pretty sure" news post?

XenoLovegood 09/05/12 03:08 PM

Let's just hope it doesn't suck like pretty much every song off of Anarchy.

I think people secretly want their fav band(s) to not be popular cause then they feel like they lose em to the masses

nah, I think most people don't give a shit about it and are happy for their favourite bands and the people who do care, let everyone know what they think every possible time they can.

Holly HoX! 09/05/12 03:38 PM

(Insert sweeping generalization here)
