Punk Goes Pop 5 Release Info

It's that magical time of year where we get the latest installment in Fearless Records' Punk Goes Pop series. The 5th compilation will hit stores on November 6th and you can check out the track listing here or in the replies.

Steve Alcala 09/13/12 11:06 AM

Everything is wrong with this.

B.Leibo 09/13/12 11:06 AM

Some other info, the Mayday Parade cover of Somebody That I Used To Know will feature Vic Fuentes of Pierce the Veil

Cody Nelson 09/13/12 11:09 AM

This is the first one of these where literally none of the tracks interest me in the slightest. 1-4 all had at least one track where I was curious to see how it turned out.

Interesting. Only song I'm looking forward to

Exactly what I came in here to stay.

Plus, they need to bring back the punk goes acoustic compilations.

Penguin 09/13/12 11:11 AM

I'm excited for MP, The Maine, Craig Owens, The Word Alive, and maybe FTSK. The rest is bleh.

TheRealJohnOC 09/13/12 11:11 AM

Craig Owens covering Coldplay. Mhmmmm.

Steve Alcala 09/13/12 11:12 AM

Dustin Harkins 09/13/12 11:12 AM

No soup for any of them.

In-Silence 09/13/12 11:12 AM

How about re-release Punk Goes Acoustic Vol. 1 on vinyl. This is just plain wrong, calling this punk goes anything.

theonethingihav 09/13/12 11:13 AM

Why do they just keep going pop now.....

Jack Appleby 09/13/12 11:13 AM

There are so many LOLs here.

brandon_260 09/13/12 11:13 AM

dead

tacosforcharles 09/13/12 11:14 AM

These are getting horrible, they used to actually use cool bands.

The Old Black 09/13/12 11:16 AM

Interested to hear a few of these. Can't say I'm excited, just interested.

Born_For_This 09/13/12 11:16 AM

Well this will be awful.

friskycurtain 09/13/12 11:16 AM

:shudder:

DisenShaanted 09/13/12 11:16 AM

You know Vic is sing Kimbra's part. I'm definitely done with these releases. Why are there two '80s covers?

J(E)RB 09/13/12 11:18 AM

Speaking of soup, The Wonder Years should do a cover, and Fearless should put it on hear. Even though TWY probably would not cover a pop song, Fearless can just decide what kind of comp it will be after TWY decide what song they cover.

incognitojones 09/13/12 11:19 AM

Seems like they're trying less and less. Who the fuck is 'Upon this Dawning'? I'd listen to 6, 7, 8, and 12, probably once.

Fame<Infamy 09/13/12 11:19 AM

JoeHalby 09/13/12 11:19 AM

Jake Denning 09/13/12 11:21 AM

There's maybe 2 songs that I think will succeed. Everything else will fail.

HeyItsAllyssa 09/13/12 11:21 AM

I can't wait to hear Mayday's version of "Somebody I Used To Know" featuring Vic. Does that mean Vic is singing the girl parts? I am not saying that to be mean/rude, asking in all honesty.

iseejosh 09/13/12 11:21 AM

Only excited for th maine and mayday covers bc all the other metal core covers will sound exactly the same.

GetUpAndrew 09/13/12 11:22 AM

I will check out The Word Alive and Memphis May Fire cover songs. Don't care about the rest of this.

Also, Breathe Carolina covering Billie Jean is a crime against humanity.

seymourbuttes 09/13/12 11:22 AM

Breathe Carolina is gonna DESTROY Billie Jean... Who the FUCK let them do this?!

livingsaint317 09/13/12 11:22 AM

I'm with everyone else on this, not interested in checkin this one out at all. I still personally think the first one was the best. And the acoustic comps are pretty jammin as well, bring another one of those back!

NateFoundGlory 09/13/12 11:23 AM

The worst. My god, the worst.

Scrawns 09/13/12 11:23 AM

poor choice of tracks by most of these artists.

dmcaloon 09/13/12 11:23 AM

I'm sick of Tyler Carter, sick of Crown the Empire, and I have no clue why Craig Owens is doing a track by himself. Volume 3 definitely marked the end of this series. I'll pick and choose a few after listening to them, but there's no way I'm buying this.

NateFoundGlory 09/13/12 11:24 AM

Although, per usual, Mayday is the only one I'm interested in. They usually don't butcher it too much.

ChelseaRiane 09/13/12 11:24 AM

I never take these too seriously but I always check them out anyways. I'm interested in hearing the Mayday/Vic one

Yes.

Drew Beringer 09/13/12 11:25 AM

excited for the Word Alive and Craig Owens tracks, the rest is just lol

Zack Zarrillo 09/13/12 11:25 AM

Pop and some Metalcore Goes Pop

wheniflysolo 09/13/12 11:25 AM

i read this list and projectile-vomited all over my computer screen

Clockwork00 09/13/12 11:26 AM

Interested in Mayday's cover, even though I'm not a huge fan of the original. I'll probably check out The Maine and Forever the Sickest Kids too. I've never enjoyed one of these all the way through, so I'm just happy to get a few bands I like.

PerfectChaos337 09/13/12 11:26 AM

Fearless Records have shamed themselves (again).

bradsonemanband 09/13/12 11:26 AM

i don't know half of these songs and i don't know 3/4 of these bands.

PirateSkater182 09/13/12 11:26 AM

Who are these bands? I've heard like 2 of them.

Hopefully TWA decide to do more than chug on this.

Mattylikesfilms 09/13/12 11:28 AM

Awkward.

I would expect more than chug, their last album was decidedly less "chugging" that Deceiver

AnthonyBTT 09/13/12 11:30 AM

They should have had you me at six do paradise. The version I heard them do was great. But eff this comp.
