Vagrant Signs The 1975

Vagrant Records has signed Manchester's The 1975. You can listen to their new single entitled "Sex" in the replies, and pre-order their Sex EP on iTunes. The band is currently worked on their debut album with producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Foals) for a Spring 2013 release.

Followed these boys from the drive like i do days. Always knew they had talent, always knew they had the potential to be one of the biggest bands in the world. In the last 3 months theyve started showing that potential, but holy moly this is big news. Congratulations to the boys!

does anyone have that music video song they had when they were big sleep? that song was cool

anamericangod 10/02/12 02:18 PM

Whoa, this is unexpected but awesome. This song definitely isn't new, but it sounds like a remix.

This is a good EP. Looking forward to the full length.

@Littleredhouse I think your on about ghosts, yeah ive literally got every song ever leaked through friends from their HQ's. Im sure you'll find an mp3 somewhere, holler me if not.

phillipjacob 10/02/12 02:49 PM

catchy little song

SureAsRain 10/02/12 03:53 PM

This band is very awesome. Good on you Vagrant :)

Maybe now the thread I created for them will get some traffic. It's about time these guys caught on

ReadyForAction 10/02/12 04:14 PM

The Facedown EP was okay, but this sounds much better. I'm glad they aren't abandoning this sound.

I'd agree. I liked the Facedown EP, but it was more atmospheric rather than the upbeat indie rock sort of thing they had going on.

Doesn't really sound like a Vagrant band to me.

I wouldn't say vagrant has had a signature sound for about ten years. Their roster is crazy eclectic now.

InfiniteArms 10/02/12 04:35 PM

I'm getting a Twin Atlantic vibe from these guys. I like it.

Epilogueboy 10/02/12 08:00 PM

MASSIVE potential. This band will be headlining Glastonbury some day.

It is a different mix. It'll be nice to have a non youtube rip of this song. Hopefully we'll get "Ghosts" on the full length.

trojanick 10/02/12 10:47 PM

Wow, that track was quite good.

I've played it in Turntable a few times, I swear you've been there.

ssbsts1988 10/03/12 01:26 AM

When they were still called drive like i do, they recorded a few songs with pete miles, one of them was sex, and that recording is soo much better than on this, but im glad to see them actually releasing music and getting recognition instead of just posting random songs on myspace and youtube from time to time.

Huge respect to Vagrant for picking up an emerging UK band. Nice guys too.

kennedyAM 10/03/12 07:47 AM

"This City" was a wonderful gem off the last EP. Really digging this song.
